Aura Perfume is a German niche fragrance label based in Timmendorfer Strand. It is run by the company strictly selective GmbH and makes a small range of concentrated perfumes, among them Aura Sublime, A.E.O.M., Gwen and TestoX. Two of the four current scents are credited to the perfumer Cécile Zarokian.

The company publishes neither a founding year nor a founder story beyond a single origin line. Its current status is unknown: the official website and its list of authorised stockists remain online, but no dated launch or announcement from the past year is known, and at least one German retailer stopped carrying the brand in May 2026.

## Origin & founders

Aura Perfume tells its own beginning in one sentence. The label, it says, "has been born out of the search for the holy grail of fragrance - and became a universe" [4]. No founding date is given, and no founder is named on the brand's website. The legal notice lists Matthias Janke as the person representing the operating company, but does not describe him as the brand's founder or owner.

An earlier name may be attached to the line. The review site ScentAdvice files Aura Sublime under the label "BIJON/AURA" [7], and two of the retailer links on the brand's own stockist page lead to shop sections named "bijon". The company has not publicly explained the connection between the two names, so whether Bijon was a predecessor brand remains unconfirmed.

Most of the perfumes carry named perfumer credits. The brand's fragrance pages credit Cécile Zarokian with Aura Sublime and A.E.O.M., and Andreas Wilhelm with the original version of the scent that became TestoX. The fourth current fragrance, Gwen, is attributed only to an unnamed "prominent nose". The German retailer Parfinity reports the same credits [6].

## Ownership

The brand's legal operator, identified in the Impressum (legal notice) on its website, is strictly selective GmbH, a company entered in the commercial register at the court in Lübeck under number 14866 [5]. Parfinity likewise names strictly selective GmbH in Timmendorfer Strand as the brand's legally identified producer and site operator [6]. No acquisition history or sister brands are known.

The company's street address appears in two forms. The website footer and the German-language legal notice give Strandallee 89, 23669 Timmendorfer Strand, while the English version of the same notice gives Strandallee 8 [5]. Because the two German-language listings agree, the English version most likely contains a typing error. The town is the same in both.

## Philosophy & positioning

Aura Perfume sums itself up in the slogan "Real niche with an unreal sillage" [1]. Sillage is the perfumer's word for the trail of scent a fragrance leaves in the air around the wearer, and it sits at the centre of the brand's pitch. The homepage invites visitors to "let our molecules surround your body and feel your aura", an idea the label's name also plays on.

Parfinity describes the approach in similar terms: fragrance that should "not merely sit on skin, but form a perceptible aura". The retailer also notes that the brand offers no extended chronology of itself and puts the effect of the scent first. The company's homepage reflects this. Instead of a history or an "about" page, it reproduces about a dozen customer reviews from retailer and fragrance-community sites, most of them about Aura Sublime and A.E.O.M., which focus on how long the perfumes last and how far they project.

## Products & innovation

The current range consists of four perfumes, each given a short descriptor by the company.

Aura Sublime, which the brand calls a "legendary citrus vanilla gourmand", opens with bergamot and lemon, has iris at its heart and settles on vanilla absolute, ambergris and musk. A.E.O.M. is billed as an "enormously satisfying boozy powerhouse": cognac, rum and the herb davana sit over spiced florals such as ylang, rose and geranium, with woods, amber, benzoin and incense in the base. Gwen, described as a "captivating gourmand seducer", pairs citrus and almond with orchid and sambac jasmine over vanilla, musk, benzoin and labdanum.

TestoX, presented as "radiant patchouly in high definition", centres on spices and patchouli, with birch tar and oud underneath. According to the company, it is a relaunch, in a higher concentration, of "Testosteroné", a scent originally created by Andreas Wilhelm [3].

Retailers sell the line as extrait de parfum, a concentrated form of perfume [9]. Fragrance databases also list a fifth scent, Menthe Froide, which does not appear in the official range [8]. The brand's website makes no vegan, cruelty-free or other certification claims and does not say where the perfumes are made.

The brand is sold through a compact network of perfumeries and online shops. Its stockist page lists ten authorised retailers: perfumeries and online shops in Germany, the Netherlands and Spain, and, in the United States, the online retailer Luckyscent and three Scent Bar shops in Los Angeles and New York City [4].

## Current status

Aura Perfume's status is unknown. The official website remains online, with a 2023 copyright notice in its footer [1], and it still publishes its list of authorised stockists. As of October 2026, Luckyscent continued to list all four current extraits [9].

Other signs point the other way. No dated launch or news item from the preceding twelve months is known, and Parfinity has marked the brand as "no longer in assortment" since 14 May 2026 [6]. On this evidence the brand can be described neither as clearly active nor as dormant.
