Avocado.B12 is a German skincare line for very dry and sensitive skin, built around a pink cream that pairs avocado oil with vitamin B12. The range is aimed at daily care for people with atopic dermatitis, a chronic and itchy form of eczema known in German as Neurodermitis, and for people with psoriasis. It is sold mainly through pharmacies and is marketed by Peter Wierich e.K., a small marketing and sales firm in Reinbek, near Hamburg [2].

The line is compact: a body care cream, a face cream, a cream for babies and children, and a shower product. According to the company, none of them contains fragrance. Alongside the products, the brand's website runs an advice section written for people who live with skin conditions.

## Ownership

Avocado.B12 is not a stand-alone company. The legal notice on the brand's website names Peter Wierich e.K., a sole-trader business entered in the commercial register at the district court in Lübeck, as its operator, with Peter Wierich as owner [2]. The same firm trades as Peter Wierich CMV and as Peter Wierich Consulting – Marketing + Vertrieb (marketing and sales). On its corporate website, the firm says it specialises in introducing and supporting health products in the German-speaking market, without costly personnel structures [9]. The site credits Peter Wierich with long experience in marketing and sales at diagnostics, pharmaceutical and consumer-goods companies. No source describes him as the brand's founder, and the people behind the original formula have not been publicly named.

The legal notice also lists a separate distribution partner, S+H Pharmavertrieb GmbH, based in Naunhof. Wierich's portfolio includes one other line, Hyaluron proYoung, made up of an anti-wrinkle face cream ("Faltenfiller Gesichtscreme") and a body product sold as "AntiAging Bodylift".

Accounts of the company behind the brand differ slightly. The brand's own legal notice places Peter Wierich e.K. in Reinbek [2]. A February 2021 article on Farbenhaut, a German information and community platform for people with psoriasis, instead names the manufacturer as the "Wierich Vertriebsgesellschaft", based in Hamburg, and describes it as specialising in cosmetic skin care and herbal food supplements [10]. Because Reinbek lies near Hamburg, the two descriptions of the location do not necessarily point to a move. How the two Wierich entities relate to each other has not been publicly explained.

## Philosophy & positioning

The brand's tagline, "Sanfte Pflege für strapazierte Haut" (gentle care for stressed skin), sums up its focus. Avocado.B12 presents its creams as everyday, supportive care for skin that is very dry and easily irritated, including skin affected by atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Its homepage goes further and speaks of relief ("Linderung") for both conditions.

The company's central argument is about routine rather than quick fixes. In its own words, people with atopic dermatitis and psoriasis need help every day against itching and inflamed skin, and constant, preventive care is the best way to ease their condition. Avocado.B12 frames the pairing of avocado oil and vitamin B12, supported by urea and evening primrose oil, as its response to that need. It also notes that vitamin B12 is still a relatively new ingredient in skin creams, while describing its own results with the vitamin and avocado oil as excellent.

Leaving out fragrance is part of the same positioning. The company says its products contain no fragrances or aromatic substances, which it presents as suitable for sensitive skin. The product page adds that the care cream nonetheless carries the natural scent of evening primrose oil.

The website also hosts an editorial section called Panorama, subtitled "Trends und Tipps für sensible Haut" (trends and tips for sensitive skin). It describes itself as a place where those affected write for others who are affected. Topics run from clothing for sensitive skin, nail care with psoriasis and hair removal to the emotional side of living with a skin condition, affirmations, summer skincare, swimming pools, garden allergies and recipes. A list of allergens, a dermatologist search and an invitation to suggest topics round out the section.

## Products & innovation

The flagship is the Avocado.B12 Pflegecreme (care cream), a pink cream for very sensitive and dry skin, sold in a 50 ml tube and a 200 ml jar. It has also been marketed as "Avocado B12 – Die rosa Creme" (the pink cream). The colour comes from the vitamin itself: vitamin B12 is deep red and tints the cream pink [10]. According to the brand, more than a third of the formula is avocado oil, at 35 per cent [3]. Evening primrose oil makes up 5 per cent, and urea is also included. The cream has a pH of 7.2, and the company suggests applying it thinly once or several times a day.

The brand assigns each ingredient a clear role. Avocado oil is described as restoring the skin's natural oils and smoothing it, and as rich in vitamins A, D and E and in unsaturated fatty acids. The company adds that its high content of palmitoleic acid makes it well tolerated even on sensitive skin, and that it helps carry other active ingredients into the skin. Evening primrose oil, which contains up to 14 per cent gamma-linolenic acid, is said to have a favourable effect on inflammation. Urea, a moisture-binding substance, is used to help the skin's outermost layer hold on to water. Vitamin B12, listed among the ingredients as cyanocobalamin, is credited with an antioxidant effect; Avocado.B12 says it breaks the cycle of repeatedly irritated skin cells and so calms the skin.

The rest of the range adapts this base for other uses. The Gesichtscreme (face cream), in a 100 ml jar, is a pink, urea-free cream for sensitive facial skin that the brand also recommends for baby skin. The Baby & Kind Creme (baby and child cream) comes in a 140 ml leak-proof dispenser and is meant for sensitive baby skin affected by atopic dermatitis, psoriasis or dryness. The Duschpflege (shower care), a 300 ml cleanser with a pH of 5.5, is designed to wash without drying out the skin. It contains avocado oil, vitamin B12 and allantoin, along with what the company calls a high share of panthenol (3 per cent), also known as vitamin B5. Of the four products, only the original care cream contains urea.

## Science & innovation

Avocado.B12 describes its products as dermatologically tested and publishes a page of test reports. According to the company, specialist dermatological assessments measured skin moisture with a Corneometer, a device that gauges how much water the skin's outer layer holds. The brand reports that these measurements showed a significant improvement in skin moisture in 90 per cent of patients with atopic dermatitis [5].

A separate page describes a four-week test on 20 children and teenagers aged 6 to 16. In that test, the brand says, skin moisture improved by 25.96 per cent after four weeks of use, and no irritation occurred [8]. The brand's published summaries of both tests do not name the testing institute or the year in which the work was done.

For readers who want the underlying documents, the company offers downloads: Dermatest certificates and "DermaReport" summaries for both the care cream and the face cream, plus a product-test report on psoriasis. No other third-party certifications are documented.

## Current status

Avocado.B12 is active. The brand's website is maintained, carries a 2025 copyright notice and lists all four products, each with its own German pharmacy product number and links to online pharmacy retailers [7]. Its continued presence shows mainly through ongoing availability rather than new launches, and no recent product introductions have been publicly dated. The brand also keeps accounts on Instagram and Facebook. Its reach is centred on German-speaking customers: the website is in German, the products are sold through pharmacies, and the owner names the German-speaking market as its focus.
