Functional Cosmetics Company AG, a Swiss company based in Muttenz near Basel, took over the distribution rights to EVERDRY in 2021 and acquired the brand outright in 2023 [2]. Since then it has been run as one of the owner's own brands, alongside the antiperspirant line SweatStop. ## Origin & founders EVERDRY's beginnings are described differently depending on the source. The current owner dates the brand to 2006 and says it was developed out of personal experience: its founder, according to the owner's brand page, created EVERDRY because of his own struggle with heavy sweating and the limits it placed on daily life [8]. The brand's website repeats the year in its footer with the line "Seit 2006" ("since 2006"). Two independent sources instead give 2007 as the year the company was founded. A German antiperspirant comparison site states that the Everdry company was set up in May 2007 [9], and a product-test blog writing in 2014 also gives 2007 as the founding year [10]. The two dates are not necessarily contradictory, since a product can be developed before the company that sells it is registered. It is worth noting, however, that 2006 is also the year Functional Cosmetics Company AG gives for its own founding [5], so the owner's date for EVERDRY may reflect its own history rather than the brand's. This reflects the change of ownership rather than a factual dispute. ## Ownership Functional Cosmetics Company AG brought EVERDRY into its business in two steps. In 2021 it acquired the distribution rights, and in 2023 it completed the full takeover of the brand. The owner's company history notes simply that EVERDRY "joined us" in 2021 and describes it as offering products against sweating and sweat odour in roll-on, dispenser and wipe formats. The owner was founded by Stefan Menzi and Brice Ulich, who are also listed as its managing directors. By the company's own account, the idea behind it took shape in 2005, when the two discussed Ulich's unsuccessful search for an effective remedy for underarm sweat. The company then built its own antiperspirant line, SweatStop. Its records are not fully consistent on its own start: one page says the company was founded in 2006, while the timeline on its history page lists the founding of Functional Cosmetics Company AG under 2007 [2]. The brand sums up its values in three words: efficacy, trust and responsibility. The positioning is practical rather than fashion-led. EVERDRY describes its antiperspirants as a quick and affordable solution for sweating on different parts of the body, and it backs purchases with a 30-day money-back guarantee. The website is available in German, English and French, prices are shown in euros and Swiss francs, and orders ship from either Germany or Switzerland. Alongside the shop, the site runs an extensive advice section covering why people sweat, excessive sweating as a medical condition (hyperhidrosis), common myths, and tips for situations from sport and travel to menopause and night sweats. The brand says one bottle lasts around ten to twelve months. A care-oriented variant, the Body PLUS Roll-On, adds sage, organic aloe vera and allantoin. The Body Antiperspirant in a dispenser is designed for the face, forehead and body. Wipes form the second pillar of the range. EVERDRY sells Body PLUS wipes with sage, aloe vera and allantoin for the body, face and forehead, and Hands wipes aimed specifically at sweaty palms, which the brand says contain panthenol and have antibacterial properties. An antibacterial 2-in-1 anti-odour spray rounds out the core line. The owner's own shop also lists an aluminium-free roll-on, sold as Roll-On NATURAL, and a hyaluronic acid day and night cream under the EVERDRY name. Earlier in its history the brand offered a wider assortment. The comparison site describes a range that, beyond the classic roll-on, came to include sprays, lotions, underarm pads, wipes and skin-friendly textiles such as T-shirts [9]. EVERDRY describes its antiperspirants as free from alcohol, fragrance and colourants, dermatologically tested and vegan, and labels them made in Germany [7]. The owner states that it does not carry out animal testing. No third-party certifications are documented for the brand. The brand's FAQ addresses the use of aluminium compounds in antiperspirants, explaining that they close the sweat glands locally and act only at the surface of the skin. Addressing safety concerns about aluminium, the FAQ cites a 2020 statement by Germany's Federal Institute for Risk Assessment that aluminium does not enter the body through the skin, and says this was confirmed in 2023 by the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) [6].
