KaSa is a German brand of antiperspirants for heavy sweating, made by KaSa Cosmetics, a small owner-run company based in Roßdorf near Darmstadt. The business was founded in 2006 by Karl Henrich [2], who says he lived for years with hyperhidrosis, the medical term for excessive sweating, before building a company around the problem [1]. Everything in the range traces back to a single product, the KaSa Deo antiperspirant, which later grew into a small family of roll-ons, a gel for hands and feet, a facial roll-on and a care cream meant to calm skin after use.

The brand traded as KaSa Deo until 2013, when it took the name KaSa Cosmetics [3]. It remains an independent, active business: its online shop continues to sell the full range, although its public news section has not been updated since 2018.

## Origin & founders

KaSa began with a personal complaint rather than a market study. On the company's homepage, the owner writes in the first person that he himself suffered from heavy sweating for many years. Karl Henrich is named on the company's about page as both the founder of the brand and its managing director, and the legal notice lists him as the owner of the business.

According to the company, its first antiperspirant was developed to a formula worked out together with pharmacists and dermatologists. One of them is named on the website: the dermatologist Dr. med. Detlef Schulz, whom KaSa describes as a co-developer of its antiperspirant products and a specialist in skin and heavy sweating [1]. The about page also presents him as the company's partner for dermatology and anti-ageing medicine.

From the start, KaSa Cosmetics has kept development, production and sales in one place. The company says it develops, produces and distributes its body-care products at its base in Roßdorf, near Darmstadt. The rest of the team shown on the website is small. Salima Mechbal, trained in event management, handles marketing, trade fairs and sponsorships. Hans-Peter Urban works as a sales consultant and, according to the company, also checks products before they are shipped to customers. Rachel Muth plans the brand's public appearances and acts as a first point of contact for customers.

## History & milestones

The first product reached the market in 2006. Over the following years, the company says, that single antiperspirant was gradually expanded into the KaSa antiperspirant series, a set of products designed to be used together.

The most visible turning point came in September 2013. In a press release headed "Aus KaSa Deo wird KaSa Cosmetics" ("KaSa Deo becomes KaSa Cosmetics"), the company announced the change of name [3]. The release explained that positive feedback from users and testers had led it to add skin-care and skin-regenerating products to the original KaSa Deo. Two new items arrived with the rename: KaSa Deo Gel, designed for use on the hands and feet, and the KaSa Pflegecreme, a care cream. The same release reported that dermatologists from the testing company dermatest had rated the antiperspirant "sehr gut" (very good) [4].

The mid-2010s were a period of active promotion. In November 2013 the company issued a press release about its appearance at the BEAUTY Düsseldorf trade fair, where, according to the brand, the designer Julian F. M. Stoeckel took an interest in the products. On 7 July 2014, KaSa Cosmetics sponsored a fashion event held at the opening of Berlin Fashion Week, featuring the label Kauffeld & Jahn Couture. The brand's newsroom also reports a guest appearance by Henrich and Mechbal on the regional radio station Antenne Frankfurt 95.1 and a presence at the Secret Fashion Show in Munich.

After its own stand at BEAUTY Düsseldorf and the Berlin sponsorships, the company took what it called the next step: television advertising for KaSa Deo. It also exhibited at Spa-life International, a spa and wellness congress in Bad Orb, on 30 and 31 May 2016, and returned the following year.

The product line widened again in this period. A roll-on version of KaSa Deo with aloe vera was introduced, and in September 2017 the company announced the KaSa Active Roll-On Face, a small antiperspirant intended for sweating on the face. From 5 April 2018, the facial roll-on was also available in the online shop of the teleshopping channel QVC in Germany [5]. The company described QVC as a new and important partner. That announcement is the most recent entry in the brand's newsroom.

## Ownership

KaSa Cosmetics is owned and run by its founder. The company's legal notice names the business as "KaSa Cosmetics" with Karl Henrich as its proprietor (Inhaber) [6]. No parent company, outside investor or acquisition is documented, and the brand has no known sister brands.

## Philosophy & positioning

KaSa presents itself as a specialist rather than a general cosmetics house. The phrase "Gegen starkes Schwitzen" ("against heavy sweating") runs across the homepage and appears as a subtitle on most of its products. The company frames its antiperspirants as more than cosmetics, calling them tools for self-confidence and quality of life, and says it believes everyone deserves the freedom to feel comfortable in their own skin. On its homepage it states that it has been dealing with the problem of excessive sweating for more than 15 years and aims to give customers back the quality of life they deserve.

The brand's advice pages place its products within the wider set of options for people with hyperhidrosis. KaSa says that around one million people in Germany are affected by uncontrolled sweating, and contrasts its approach with home remedies such as baking soda and apple cider vinegar, which it calls of limited effect, and with medical treatments such as anticholinergic drugs and botulinum toxin injections, which it describes as mostly costly [8]. Its own offer is positioned between the two: a purely cosmetic solution based on aluminium salts.

The antiperspirants are marketed to both women and men. According to the company, its customers include private households as well as professional bulk buyers in Germany and elsewhere in Europe [2]. The homepage speaks of more than 100,000 satisfied customers, and the about page says the products have improved the quality of life of hundreds of thousands of people. The company sells mainly through its own German-language online shop.

## Products & innovation

The range is compact. It consists of six products, plus a set pairing the antiperspirant with the care cream:

- **KaSa Deo** (30 ml and 50 ml), the original antiperspirant, supplied in a small bottle and applied with a cotton pad. It remains the core of the line.
- **KaSa Active Roll-On** (50 ml), a roll-on version containing aloe vera, for the underarms and other areas of the body.
- **KaSa Active Roll-On Face** (10 ml), a small roll-on for sweating on the face.
- **KaSa Deo Gel** (50 ml), made for the hands and feet.
- **KaSa Pflegecreme** (50 ml), a care cream intended to soothe skin irritation after using the antiperspirant.

The instructions KaSa gives show how its products differ from an everyday deodorant. The company recommends applying KaSa Deo in the evening before bed, so that the ingredients can work overnight, and says morning use gives weaker results. Skin should be shaved for the best effect. According to the FAQ, the product reduces sweating from the first use, while the full effect, a blocking of sweat flow, usually sets in after two to four days [7]. Because its main job is to stop heavy sweating, KaSa Deo contains no added fragrance; the company says it is odourless, so users can apply their usual deodorant on top. It is not meant for children, as the brand advises waiting until puberty, when the skin has a more stable structure.

For the feet, the company suggests applying the gel in the evening to clean skin, after removing any hard skin, and letting it act overnight. On the palms, it recommends a thin layer that is left to absorb for a few minutes; the brand says the gel sinks in quickly and leaves no greasy film. For sensitive or easily irritated skin, KaSa suggests applying the care cream a few minutes after the antiperspirant. The FAQ explains that underarm skin is thin and can react with a burning feeling, and presents the cream as the answer. The cream can also be used on its own as a skin-care product.

The strongest performance claim on the homepage is that KaSa prevents sweat stains for up to seven days [1]. The company does not cite a study for this figure.

## Science & innovation

KaSa's antiperspirants rely on aluminium salts. In its 2013 press release, the company named the two key ingredients of KaSa Deo as aluminium chloride hexahydrate and isopropyl alcohol, and explained that they narrow the sweat glands at the point where the product is applied [4]. Its current advice pages still describe the antiperspirant as based on aluminium salts and refer to the products as dermatologically tested.

Because aluminium in antiperspirants has been the subject of health concerns in the media, KaSa addresses the question directly in its FAQ. There it quotes Germany's Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), whose opinion of 20 July 2020 concluded that health effects from aluminium absorbed through the skin through regular use of such products are unlikely on current scientific knowledge [7]. The FAQ also quotes the consumer organisation Stiftung Warentest and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) on the lack of an established link between deodorant ingredients and breast cancer. These statements are presented by the company itself as part of its product information.

## Current status

KaSa is an active brand. As of September 2026, its online shop was trading, with the full range of six products and a bundle offer on sale, and the about page refers to 20 years of experience, in line with the 2006 founding. The company's newsroom is less current: its most recent post, from April 2018, announced the QVC partnership [5], and no news has been published since. The brand's activity centres on Germany, with a German-language website and German sales channels. Traces of the earlier name remain in places, including the brand's YouTube channel, which still carries the KaSa Deo name.
