Luba is a Polish brand of wet wipes made by Luba Sp. z o.o., a manufacturer based in Mińsk Mazowiecki. Its personal-care line, Luba Care, covers refreshing and antibacterial hand wipes, antiperspirant wipes and, under the Luba Med sub-brand, wipes for intimate hygiene. The same company also makes wipes for babies, the home, cars and pets, along with wet toilet paper, and produces wipes for other brands under their own labels.

The business behind the brand dates to 2015, when a factory dedicated to wet wipes was set up in Mińsk Mazowiecki [12]. The company describes itself as "a Polish manufacturer of wet wipes and a rapidly growing young Polish brand" [2], and marked ten years of production with a 2015–2025 overview on its website. The brand is active.

## Origin & founders

Luba's wet-wipes business began with a factory built in Mińsk Mazowiecki in 2015. A 2018 profile in the Polish cosmetics trade title Wiadomości Kosmetyczne described that plant as a fourth factory, opened as a way to diversify a business that until then had worked in construction materials, making polystyrene [12]. The same article named the owner of the Luba brand at the time as the Luba Sohn holding. The company's current website does not discuss the holding, and no founders are named in public sources.

When Wiadomości Kosmetyczne profiled it in April 2018, the brand had only recently reached the market, and the magazine called it "a new player" in the wet-wipes category. The interview, with Luba's then marketing manager Katarzyna Kostrzyńska, framed the debut as unusual: the owners had many years of business experience, but cosmetics were entirely new to them. The article also noted that Mińsk Mazowiecki was already home to production plants of Harper Hygienics, which the interviewer described as a giant of the wet-wipes market.

Kostrzyńska told the magazine that the company had started at the low end of the market but quickly changed its formulas, packaging design and positioning. For the Luba brand it chose thicker nonwoven fabric and richer formulas, while also preparing to manufacture wipes to order for other companies. She said Luba was one of the few producers to state openly on the pack what each nonwoven was made from, betting that shoppers were becoming more interested in where products come from and how they are made.

In the same interview the company reported holding the BRC CP certificate and ISO 22716 (GMP) certification, and running an ISO 9001 quality system. At that point its wipes were sold through online shops, kiosks, pharmacies, Aelia airport duty-free shops and Lotos petrol stations.

The company's news page points readers to an interview with Maria Szymańska, President of the Management Board, in the Polish newspaper Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, about the beginnings of the Luba brand [9].

## History & milestones

Luba's own milestones are told mainly through figures rather than dated events. On its "Luba in Numbers" page, headed "2015–2025 – We have a lot to be proud of", the company says it exports to 16 countries, has developed 219 formulas and has produced more than 34 million packages in total [4]. That export figure covers the whole manufacturer, including the wipes it makes for other brands.

The company gives two different figures for its daily output. The "Luba in Numbers" page lists 180,000 packages produced per day [4], while the English home page of the company site states "up to 250,000 packages per day" [3]. Neither page is dated. The higher figure may describe capacity rather than actual output, but the company does not say.

Other markers of the brand's development come from its awards and certificates. The company's awards page lists a Love Cosmetics Award in 2022 and two further distinctions in 2024, and its certificates page shows documents dated between 2023 and 2025.

## Philosophy & positioning

Luba sums up its approach in the tagline "We refresh everyday life". The company states its mission as "to make everyday life feel less like a chore", and lists among its values caring for the home and all its inhabitants, less waste and consumer choice.

For the personal-care line, the brand presents wet wipes as hygiene on the go. According to the Luba Care page, a wet wipe has become "a symbol of cleanliness and freshness at any time of day", particularly when clean water is not easily at hand: at work, while travelling, at school, on public transport, at playgrounds and at the gym. The page picks out three features that it says set the wipes apart: natural origin, vegan formulas and biodegradability.

The company describes itself as a specialist. Its home page calls it "Poland's Only 100% Wet Wipes Specialist" and says it is focused entirely on wet wipes and wet toilet paper [3]. Besides its own brands, Luba sells to business customers. It offers private-label production, in which partner brands configure a product with the help of an account manager, and support with launching products in Polish and foreign retail chains. The company says it runs regular consumer research on the wet-wipes category and shares the findings with partners, and it offers category management so that its own brands and partner brands sit alongside each other on shop shelves.

## Products & innovation

Luba Care is organised around three types of wipe. The intimate-hygiene wipes are sold under the Luba Med name. The company says they are made with lactic acid and herbal plant extracts, use vegan formulas that are dermatologically tested, and are cut from 100% biodegradable, plant-based material [1].

The hand-care range includes classic refreshing hand wipes and antibacterial versions, which the company also describes as dermatologically tested. The third line is antiperspirant wipes. Luba calls this range "one of the few of its kind on the market" and says its formula, based on silver ions, protects against sweat when there is no quick access to water, while also cleansing the skin of sweat, bacteria and odour [1].

Outside Luba Care, the manufacturer lists wipes for make-up removal among its hygiene products, and makes specialised wipes for pharmacies, including products for intimate hygiene and for people with haemorrhoids, which it says contain concentrated herbal and medicinal extracts. The wider Luba family covers babies (Luba Tuli), household cleaning (Luba Comfort Eco Dom), wet toilet paper (Eco Family), dogs (My Best Friend Dog) and car interiors, the last sold mainly through petrol stations.

Much of the company's product story concerns the fabric of the wipe itself. In 2018 Luba said it worked mainly with two plant-based nonwovens, both described as hypoallergenic and biodegradable. One is made from 100% wood cellulose, which the company said breaks down quickly in water and can be flushed. The other is Tencel, also known as lyocell, a cellulose fibre that the company said is produced in an environmentally friendly process and biodegrades quickly.

The formulas, according to the company, rely heavily on filtered water, which can make up as much as 99% of a formula; Luba notes this matters most for baby products. It says it creates formulas with up to 98% natural ingredients, that many of the ingredients it uses carry ECO or COSMOS certification, and that most of its formulas are vegan, many of them carrying the Viva Vegan certification [8]. The company runs its own laboratory, where its research team develops formulas for wipes, cleaning products and pet hygiene. New formulas then go through stability testing, and external institutions carry out the safety assessments.

On its certificates page, the manufacturer shows three quality and supply-chain certificates: ISO 22716 GMP, a standard for good manufacturing practice in cosmetics; BRC CP, a product-safety standard for consumer products; and FSC Chain of Custody, which confirms that its wood-based raw materials come from responsibly managed forests [7]. The certificate images on the page are dated 2023 for GMP, January 2024 for FSC and 2024–2025 for BRC CP. These certificates apply to the manufacturer as a whole rather than to any single product line.

## Sustainability

Luba's environmental claims centre on materials and packaging. Besides the plant-based, biodegradable nonwovens and the high share of natural ingredients, the company states that all of its packaging laminates are fully recyclable once the labels are removed. It says it is also exploring biodegradable and compostable laminates. The company's website includes a page on its products and the SUP Directive on single-use plastics.

## Recognition

All of the awards listed on the company's website went to lines outside Luba Care. The Luba Eco Dom natural cleaning wipes won a Love Cosmetics Award in 2022 from WirtualneKosmetyki.pl, in the category #Clean & Green Home [6]. The same year, Comfort SODA cleaning wipes received a Top Influencer's 2022 distinction in the "Best for the Home" category.

In 2024 Luba Comfort cleaning and perfumed wipes received the Golden QI emblem as a "QI Product of the Highest Quality 2024", and the baby line Luba Tuli was named Brand of the Year 2024 in the children's category [6]. The company also lists a Brand of the Year award in the family category for its Luba Comfort and Luba Family lines, without giving a year.

In the press, the brand's main independent coverage is the 2018 Wiadomości Kosmetyczne profile of it as a newcomer to wet wipes.

## Current status

Luba is an active brand. Its website carries a 2025 copyright notice, a 2015–2025 overview of the business, awards from 2024 and a BRC CP certificate covering 2024–2025. The company exports to 16 countries across its own brands and private-label production, although the presence of the Luba brand itself outside Poland is not documented. Its products are also sold through LubaNaturalnie.pl, an online shop run by the company.
