The company says it grew out of a pharmacy in 1996 and still produces in-house in Germany [1]. Its range consists mainly of capsules filled by hand, and it includes a "Beauty & Anti-Aging" line of ingestible products aimed at skin, hair and nails rather than any topical cosmetics. The business is family-run and operated through Naturafit Vertriebs GmbH. Beyond its own brand, it has built a sizeable side business making private-label supplements for pharmacies. It remains active, with an online shop and regular publishing on its website. ## Origin & founders NaturaFit traces its roots to pharmacy practice. The homepage summarises the brand's background in a single line: founded out of a pharmacy, since 1996, with its own production in Germany run to the HACCP food-safety standard. A 2024 regional business profile in the Nürnberger Nachrichten used the same date in its headline, describing a Röttenbach family business that has produced supplements "since 1996" [6]. A slightly different figure appears in an interview with managing director Ulrich Galster published by Der Goldene Ring, a regional sports-funding initiative. There he said the company had emerged from a pharmacy "25 years ago" [7]. Because this is a relative figure, it would place the start at roughly 1997, depending on when the interview was given. This article follows the company's own explicit date of 1996. According to a 2021 profile in the pharmacy trade publication APOTHEKE ADHOC, the first micronutrients were made in the laboratory of the St. Mauritius pharmacy in Röttenbach, a pharmacy opened in 1976 [5]. That earlier year belongs to the pharmacy, not to the supplement brand. The same profile reports that the products were packed in glass jars from the start. The brown, eight-sided apothecary jar is still the company's visual signature. On its "Manufaktur" page, the company presents itself as a family-run manufacturer and names two people: Georg Galster, a pharmacist, and Ulrich Galster, an engineer and business graduate. ## History & milestones The company describes itself as having combined traditional pharmacy craft with modern research and development for more than two decades. Its growth has run along two tracks. The first is its own branded range. The second is private-label manufacturing: APOTHEKE ADHOC reported in 2021 that NaturaFit had started making own-label products for pharmacies more than 20 years earlier, that it supplied 160 such private labels across Germany and Austria, and that this business accounted for about a quarter of total revenue [5]. Its customers included individual pharmacists as well as pharmacy cooperation groups such as Medicon and Maxmo. In the Der Goldene Ring interview, Ulrich Galster added that the company also does contract manufacturing of supplements for partner firms. Sport became a second area of focus. The company names purity, care and transparency as its core values. Its stated aim is to make, for each customer, the product that fits their needs under pure production conditions. Hand production is central to how the company presents itself. "We do everything by hand," Ulrich Galster told APOTHEKE ADHOC in 2021. It is organised by need, including immune support, energy, digestion, heart health, joints and bones, sleep, sport, and pregnancy and breastfeeding. For beauty, the company groups its products under the idea of "beauty from within". The ingredients it highlights for skin, hair and nails are collagen and hyaluronic acid, biotin and zinc, silica, and vitamins C and E. In the company's words, these support elasticity and moisture, hair and nail strength, connective tissue, and protection against free radicals.
