PHARMAVERDE is a German body-care brand made for the pharmacy channel. It is the in-house cosmetics line of Maier Pharma Vertrieb GmbH, a family company based in Fahrenzhausen, in the district of Freising in Bavaria. The range covers shower baths, hand creams, soaps, body lotions and a number of simple pharmacy care items, and the company says the products are sold exclusively in selected pharmacies.

The brand works under the tagline "Schönheitspflege – von der Natur inspiriert" ("beauty care inspired by nature"). It is best documented through a 2024 charity campaign in German pharmacies, in which part of the price of every item from its "Freude schenken" line went to a children's charity. No launch date for the brand has been published.

## Origin and founders

PHARMAVERDE did not begin as a stand-alone start-up. It was created inside an existing pharmacy supplier, and no individual founder of the brand is named. According to the brand's own website, the cosmetics line "was developed with great care and high quality standards exclusively for the pharmacy market" [1]. Neither that site nor the owner's pages give a year for the launch or tell a founding story.

The history that is available belongs to the parent company. On an undated page, Maier Pharma's managing director writes that his father laid the foundation of the business about 30 years earlier, and that he himself took over as managing director in 2002 [5]. Tobias Maier is named as the person who represents Maier Pharma Vertrieb GmbH, which is registered at the Munich district court [7].

## Ownership

PHARMAVERDE is owned and marketed by Maier Pharma Vertrieb GmbH, which calls it "unsere hauseigene Kosmetikserie" – its own in-house cosmetics series [6]. The company presents two brands side by side: PHARMAVERDE for cosmetics and Aponatur, a range of food and delicacy products made by regional producers.

Maier Pharma describes itself as an owner-managed, mid-sized family business with 20 permanent employees and 20 sales agents. It says that more than 20,000 pharmacies in Germany and Austria rely on its products. The company's core business, in its own words, is strengthening the bond between businesses and their customers. It offers pharmacies, and other companies that want to give their customers something, a range of products for building long-term customer loyalty. Maier Pharma says this range stands out through a careful choice of ingredients, distinctive packaging designs and a close connection with nature, and that it advises its customers personally. On its PHARMAVERDE page, the owner offers to send its product catalogue on request and to help with the selection – wording aimed at trade buyers rather than individual shoppers.

The owner also states that it has been an organic-certified company since 2007 [5]. That certification applies to the company as a whole and to its food business; it is not a certification of the PHARMAVERDE cosmetics.

## Philosophy and positioning

The brand frames its products around plants and scent. According to the company, it selects potent plants and herbs whose multiple functions are extracted and refined to suit the varied needs of the skin, with the aim of creating a "holistic cosmetics concept." On the owner's site, the line is described as combining traditional recipes with modern knowledge.

Fragrance plays a central role in how PHARMAVERDE presents itself. Its website notes that scents can influence mood – whether sensual, refreshing, warming or uplifting – and invites readers to discover the product world "with our fragrance compositions." In this context the word refers to scented care products rather than perfumes.

The company makes several claims about how the products are made. It says all of its cosmetics are free from animal testing and tested by independent institutes, and that the products are vegan, free from parabens and free from microplastics [1]. It states that they are manufactured in Germany and elsewhere in Europe, without naming the other countries. No institute, test type or test result is named in support of the testing claim, and no third-party certification such as Leaping Bunny is documented for the brand.

Distribution is tightly defined. PHARMAVERDE describes its products as available "exclusively in selected pharmacies", and the whole range is positioned for that channel rather than for general retail.

## Products

The core of the range is everyday body care. Hand creams appear in many variants, including olive oil, argan oil, calendula, cherry blossom, verbena and wild coconut, alongside a hand cream for men. Shower baths come in ginkgo, aloe vera and olive versions, and there are cream soaps, bar soaps, body lotions, a tea tree oil foot cream and small shampoos. Several named sub-lines sit within the brand, among them "Apothecary" (with orange blossom and lemon-ginger shower baths), "Wintergold" (built around argan oil, including a gift box) and "wild Coconut" [10].

Alongside the cosmetics, the range includes products closer to classic pharmacy care. These include a mountain pine rub (Latschenkiefer Einreibung), a vein balm, an insect bite gel, an aloe vera gel, a bath for the cold season and hygiene wipes. The brand says it keeps developing its range and adds new products with appealing formulas and designs. Many items are offered in small sizes of 30 to 100 ml, next to standard 200 to 250 ml bottles.

The line most closely documented is "Freude schenken" ("giving joy"). It consists of a 250 ml cream soap, a 250 ml shower bath, a 50 ml hand cream and a 100 g natural soap [2]. The brand highlights natural essential oils and the fruity scent of orange blossom as the character of these products.

The owner also refers to a newer PHARMAVERDE series that is certified as "Clean Beauty", in which the purity and safety of the ingredients are said to be the main focus [3]. The certifying body is not named, and the series is not dated.

## History and milestones

The best-documented event in the brand's history is a charity campaign. Under the name "Ihre Apotheke tut Gutes!" ("Your pharmacy does good!"), the campaign ran nationwide in Germany from the summer of 2024. For every item from the PHARMAVERDE "Freude schenken" line that was sold or given away in a pharmacy, five percent of the price went into a fund of the Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk, a German children's rights organisation [8].

The money supported the charity's nutrition fund. That fund helps children from low-income families get healthy meals, mainly by financing cooking courses at schools, clubs and other institutions. In November 2024 the charity reported that Maier Pharma Vertrieb GmbH was donating EUR 10,000 as the provisional result of the campaign, which was set to continue until 15 December 2024 [8].

In the charity's announcement, managing director Tobias Maier described giving children in need a warm meal as a project close to the company's heart. He said the company wanted to take on social responsibility together with the charity and selected pharmacies in Germany. Holger Hofmann, the charity's federal managing director, thanked the company for the donation. He explained that in the projects supported by the nutrition fund, children chop and cook together, and that parents are also involved so that what is learned can be put into practice at home.

## Sustainability

Sustainability statements come from the owner rather than from the brand itself. Maier Pharma says that, as an organic-certified company, it sees a duty to reduce its ecological footprint significantly and continuously [4]. It also says it processes natural raw materials in as unaltered a form as possible. No brand-specific environmental targets, packaging commitments or sustainability reports are published for PHARMAVERDE.

## Current status

PHARMAVERDE is an active brand. Maier Pharma continues to present it as its in-house cosmetics line on its current website, including the reference to a new Clean Beauty series. The most recent dated event tied specifically to the brand is the charity campaign that ended in December 2024. Products from the range were still listed with offers from online pharmacies in September 2026 [10].

The brand's standalone website, by contrast, carries a 2018 copyright notice and shows little recent activity; the owner's site is the more current point of reference. PHARMAVERDE has no documented social media presence, and its reach is centred on German pharmacies, with the owner's customer base also extending to Austria.
