Rainbow, also known as Rainbow Naturprodukte, is a German natural-cosmetics brand based in Hamburg. Its skincare is built almost entirely around one plant, aloe vera, and the company sums up that focus in its tagline, "Minimal Skincare. Maximal Aloe." The brand is operated by Rainbow Gesellschaft für Naturprodukte mbH, a limited company registered with the Hamburg local court [2].

The company presents itself as a long-established maker of natural cosmetics that is meant to be accessible to everyone, and says it has been doing so for 25 years. It works closely alongside Santaverde, a Hamburg-based aloe vera cosmetics company, with which it shares an address and management. Rainbow is active, although its own website was, as of 2026, a single placeholder page while the site was being rebuilt.

## Origin & founders

Rainbow's founders and founding story are not publicly documented, and its founding year is uncertain. The brand's homepage speaks of 25 years of activity but gives no starting date [1]. The earliest entry in the German commercial register shown by the business-data service North Data dates from June 2002, when the company was entered under a different name, Rainbow Gesellschaft für Innovative Technologie mbH, with its share capital stated in Deutschmarks [9]. That entry is only the oldest publication the service holds, so it does not establish when the company was actually founded; this article therefore leaves the founding year open.

An undated listing in a German directory of natural-cosmetics manufacturers adds a third reference point. It describes the company as operating across Europe and as having 18 years of experience in growing aloe vera plants and producing aloe vera products [8]. Because the listing carries no date, that figure cannot be tied to a specific year either.

The register describes the company's purpose as the production and marketing of natural products for food and cosmetics. That dual focus is still visible in the range, which includes an aloe vera juice sold as a food supplement next to the skincare.

## Ownership

No published source names Rainbow's owner or parent company. The brand is, however, closely linked to Santaverde GmbH. The footer-linked legal notice on Rainbow's website names Santaverde GmbH as the party responsible for the site's editorial content, at the same Hamburg address as Rainbow itself [2]. The brand's contact-information page lists the two companies together at that address, and the legal notice names Caspar Fleitmann as Rainbow's managing director.

Santaverde has its own history with aloe vera. According to that company, it was founded by Sabine Beer, who in 1985 bought an old farm near Estepona in Andalusia with her husband Kurt, came across aloe vera there, and began growing it herself for use in skincare [12]. Santaverde's own history page does not mention Rainbow, so the shared address and personnel describe a close working relationship rather than a documented ownership structure.

The company's legal details are also reported in two different versions on its own website. The legal notice linked from the site's footer gives the register number HRB 31 591 at the Hamburg local court and a German VAT number ending in 681959 [2]; that register number matches North Data's profile of the company. An older Impressum page on the same site, which is not linked from the footer, instead gives HRB 40 426, a different VAT number and a German organic control code, and names Sabine Beer as chair of the advisory board [3]. Those details are identical to the ones in Santaverde GmbH's own legal notice [13], which suggests that the older page carries the sister company's register data under Rainbow's name.

The company's address has also changed over time. The current legal notice places it at Borsteler Bogen 27B in Hamburg, while older directory listings give earlier Hamburg addresses, including one on Borsteler Chaussee in the same district. All sources agree on Hamburg as the company's home.

## Philosophy & positioning

Rainbow frames its identity around restraint: few products, one hero ingredient. On its homepage, the company describes aloe vera as "more than just an ingredient" and as the embodiment of natural beauty that is clean, fresh and minimalist. It states that its skincare is meant for every skin type and that its approach to natural cosmetics should be within everyone's reach.

According to the brand, its aloe vera comes from certified organic farming and is harvested and processed by hand. The company says this preserves the plant's nutrients without artificial additives or preservatives in the processing. It also says its products carry COSMOS ORGANIC certification, which it describes as covering everything "from the aloe to the packaging" [1].

The brand places itself within the clean-beauty movement, but with a caveat of its own: it describes clean beauty not as a trend but as an attitude. The directory listing of the company makes a related point about ingredients. It states that the company uses only organically grown aloe vera, and attributes the effect of its aloecare products on the skin to their high content of aloverose, a compound of the aloe leaf [8].

## Products & innovation

Rainbow's skincare has been sold under the aloecare name as part of the Rainbow Naturprodukte range. One online retailer of natural cosmetics listed nine products from the brand in 2026 [10]. The skincare side covered an aloe vera gel and an aloe vera spray, a 24-hour face cream and a richer cream for mature and dry skin, a hand cream, a cleansing gel for normal to oily skin, a cleansing milk for dry and sensitive skin, and a serum combining aloe vera with hyaluronic acid. The same retailer listed the brand's organic aloe vera juice, which is sold as a food supplement rather than a cosmetic.

Several product names have been protected as German word marks, among them "Rainbow Naturprodukte", "aloefit", "MaxActive" and "alocare", the spelling used in the register.

Alongside its own brand, the company also trades in aloe vera as a raw material. Its contact page names a separate contact person for the purchase and sale of raw materials and for private-label production, meaning products made by the company for other brands to sell under their own names [4].

## Recognition

In its January 2024 issue, the German consumer-testing magazine ÖKO-TEST tested 50 face creams for dry skin. The Rainbow aloecare Aloe Vera 24h Creme was among them, tested in the group of certified natural cosmetics [7].

## Current status

Rainbow is an active brand. The company remains registered in Hamburg, and its products were on sale through retailers in 2026. Its own website, however, carried a notice in 2026 that it was being revised and that the product range would be shown there soon. At that point the site's shop listed no products and its news section held no posts.
