VAGHEGGI is an Italian maker of professional skincare and body care, based in Nanto in the province of Vicenza. It was founded in 1975 as Vagheggi Phytocosmetici [9], and the old name still appears in the title of its website. The company describes its field as phytocosmetics, meaning beauty products built on active ingredients taken from plants, and it has worked from that starting point for half a century [2].

VAGHEGGI is built around the beauty salon rather than the shop shelf. Its creams, oils and masks are designed to be used by trained beauticians in face and body treatments, often alongside the company's own beauty machines, and its training programmes for those professionals are a central part of the business. The brand is active, with current product lines, a regularly updated blog and a published course calendar for 2026.

## Origin & founders

The company traces its beginnings to 1975 and presents plant-based cosmetics as the idea it started with. On its website it calls phytocosmetics "our starting point, our origin and our vision", and says its main aim has never changed: to get the strongest possible performance out of natural raw materials, working closely with skilled professional partners [2].

The people who founded the company are not named in public sources. Today the company is led by Valeria Cavalcante, who signs the "About us" page as CEO.

Spa Business, a trade magazine for the spa industry, gave a short portrait of the company in 2019. It called VAGHEGGI "a pioneer in phytocosmetics" and described it as one of the first Italian companies to combine natural ingredients with modern technology and skin analysis [9]. The magazine also said the company had helped shape the history of professional Italian cosmetics through its research into products based on ingredients from nature.

## History & milestones

Italy's beauty centres have been the company's home market. By 2019, Spa Business reported, the brand was present in about 2,000 beauty centres across the country and exported to more than 30 countries [9].

Hungary is the one foreign market where the company set up its own business. According to the Budapest Business Journal, the brand had been present in Hungary for more than 15 years by 2021, and in 2013 the Italian parent company opened its first and only foreign subsidiary there, Vagheggi Kft. [10]. The same report said sales in Hungary had grown by 20 to 30 percent a year over the previous three years.

In February 2021 the Hungarian business announced plans for a 300-square-metre showroom in the Green Court Office building in Budapest, due to open in the second half of that year [10]. The space was meant to host the company's more than 30 training programmes for beauticians as well as retail sales. As part of the move, nearly 400 products that had until then been sold only through beauticians were to be offered to a wider Hungarian public. Alessandro Farina, managing director of Vagheggi Kft., said at the time: "I am honored to be in charge of Vagheggi in Hungary."

The company's more recent product history includes two notable launches. In 2019 it introduced Irritual, a spa line created with outside partners (see below). More recently it launched 75.25, a facial line built around the idea of "skin longevity" and paired with its own beauty device. The year 2025 marked fifty years since the company's founding.

## Ownership

VAGHEGGI operates as an Italian company with its registered office at Via F. Pigafetta 6 in Nanto, and a separate training centre at Via Cà Silvestre 35 in the same municipality. No outside parent company or acquisition is documented.

The company's own website gives two slightly different versions of its legal identity. The English-language footer names the company Vagheggi SpA, with its registered office in Nanto [1]. The Italian-language pages name it Vagheggi Srl, with the address given as Castegnero Nanto [3]. In Italian law, SpA and Srl are different forms of limited company. Both versions carry the same VAT number, 02622790240, so they refer to the same business; the difference in legal form has not been explained. Spa Business, in its supplier listing, also used the name Vagheggi Spa.

Its Hungarian subsidiary, Vagheggi Kft., is the only foreign subsidiary reported for the company.

## Philosophy & positioning

VAGHEGGI presents itself as "professional phytocosmetics", combining naturally derived active ingredients with up-to-date formulation research. Two ideas run through the way the company describes itself: control over the whole supply chain, and Italian manufacturing.

On the first point, the company says everything begins with the choice of raw materials, selected by where they come from, how concentrated their active ingredients are, the season and the way they are harvested. It lists lavender from Haute-Provence picked in June, Sicilian citrus fruits picked in January and cold-pressed oils, along with golden chamomile, resin crystals, amethyst, rice bran and black quinoa. To make the products act on specific skin concerns, the company says, it combines whole plant extracts with purified plant-derived molecules chosen for one particular effect. It adds that its products are checked at every stage of production so that each batch behaves the same way.

On the second point, VAGHEGGI says its formulas are developed and produced entirely in its own laboratories in Italy, and it uses "100% Italian" and "Made in Italy" as headline messages across its website.

The company is also open about its international ambitions. It says millions of people in countries including America, Canada, China, Hungary, France, Spain and Arab countries use its products, both in salons and at home [2]. It gives no country count of its own; the figure of more than 30 export countries comes from the 2019 Spa Business report.

## Products & innovation

The range is organised into face care, body care, sun care and make-up. Face care is the largest group, with lines aimed at mature skin, sensitive and fragile skin, dry skin, dull skin, combination skin with blemishes, and uneven skin tone. Body care is grouped around goals such as firming and treating cellulite, detoxing and exfoliating, and toning. Sun care is sold under the name Summer Paradise and make-up under the name Needs. Essential oils and mineral concentrates appear in both the face and body ranges.

### Treatment lines

Several lines are built around salon treatments rather than home use. Rehydra is a hydrating line that, according to the company, works with the skin cells' own processes to keep skin moisturised for longer. Sinecell is used in a body treatment for cellulite linked to fluid retention, and Fuoco Plus in what the company calls a "global, targeted shock treatment" for the body. The blog also describes face treatments built on the Emozioni Plus line for sensitive skin and the Equilibrium line for the skin's protective barrier.

### 75.25 and skin longevity

The newest flagship is 75.25, part of the company's Skin Longevity range. VAGHEGGI describes it as "not a traditional anti-age line" but a set of professional treatments meant to support healthy ageing. According to the company, it is the first time it has paired a cosmetic line with a dedicated device, the Efficacy Booster, which is designed to work alongside the cosmetic formula.

The company makes strong claims for the line. It says the treatments deliver "an average rejuvenation of 8.2 years" in the skin's biological age, and that ingredients such as an NAD+ activator, lapacho, a hybrid lavender and a fermented peptide act on "the 12 hallmarks of aging" [5]. NAD+ is a molecule that skin cells use to produce energy. These figures are the company's own.

### Irritual

Irritual, launched in 2019, was created with two spa industry figures, Morgane Collinot and Jean-Guy De Gabriac [9]. Spa Business described it as a treatment and product range aimed at "non-ritualists", presented as a homage to Italy. It uses Italian ingredients including almonds from Avola, walnuts from the Veneto region and chestnuts from the Apennine mountains between Tuscany and Emilia.

### Beauty machines

Alongside its cosmetics, VAGHEGGI sells professional equipment under the VGH name. The company groups this under what it calls the phytotech method, in which machines are used to strengthen the action of the cosmetics during a treatment [4]. The equipment covers skin analysis (VGH Face Skin Analyser), facial treatment (VGH Face Plus and VGH Face Lab), hair removal (the VGH Laser 808 series) and body shaping (VGH Liposinergy, VGH Body Sculpt and VGH Prex Plus 8). Its blog has also featured VGH MASKIN PRO, an LED device for facial treatments that uses different wavelengths of light.

## Sustainability

The company's sustainability record rests mainly on third-party descriptions. Spa Business wrote in 2019 that the brand followed fair-trade practices and sustainable development policies in sourcing its raw materials [9]. The Budapest Business Journal likewise reported a fair-trade sourcing policy and said the company described its packaging as eco-friendly. The company's blog has a dedicated sustainability category. No third-party certifications are documented.

## Current status

VAGHEGGI is active. Its website carries current product lines, including the 75.25 range, and a blog with recent articles for beauticians on topics such as NAD+, LED light treatment, sensitive skin and the skin barrier. The training section advertises enrolment for its 2026 courses [7], and training for salon professionals remains a core part of what the company offers. Its products continue to be sold mainly through beauty centres and other professional channels.
