Vimere is a German deodorant cream made by Via Nova Naturprodukte GmbH, a natural-products company based in Kempten [7]. The name does not stand for a range of products: it belongs to a single product, Vimere Deo-Creme, sold in a small 30 ml tin as part of the company's natural-cosmetics line. Its maker says one application keeps body odour away for up to ten days without the use of aluminium, and that the recipe has not changed since 1990 [3].

The cream is sold mainly through pharmacies in Germany, where it carries its own pharmacy product number. It has drawn little press attention over the years. Its public profile rests largely on pharmacy customer reviews and an online comparison ranking, which together give a mixed picture of how well the long-lasting effect holds up for individual users.

## Origin & founders

No source names a founder of Vimere or gives a separate launch date for the product. The one date the company attaches to it is that of the recipe: according to Via Nova, the formula has been unchanged since 1990 [3]. That is also the year the parent company gives as its own starting point. It says it has offered natural products to health-conscious customers since 1990, without stating whether Vimere was part of that first range [2].

The business presents itself under the name Hirt Via Nova Naturprodukte, while the legal entity behind it is Via Nova Naturprodukte GmbH, a German limited-liability company. Its legal notice names a current managing director but does not identify who started the company. The company also does not explain the origin of the Vimere name.

## History & milestones

The product's own history is short and largely static, which fits a cream sold on the strength of an unchanged formula. Beyond the 1990 recipe date, the main documented milestone concerns its maker. In 2017 and 2018, Via Nova built a new, modern headquarters at Reinhartser Straße 25 in Kempten, a site the company itself describes as lying directly next to the town's prison [2].

The new building also houses a factory shop. Customers can phone or email an order and collect it there, and staff offer advice in person [9]. Apart from this move and the steady presence of the cream in German pharmacies, no other dated events, relaunches or redesigns are documented for the brand.

## Ownership

Vimere is owned by Via Nova Naturprodukte GmbH and has no separate corporate identity of its own. No change of ownership, sale or acquisition is documented.

The cream is a small part of a broad catalogue that the company sells under its own trademarks. That catalogue spans four main areas [1]. The largest is food supplements, with products such as Viabol, Vilox, Vitamun, ViQu 10 and Energen Royal. A second group covers sport preparations, among them BCAA tablets, creatine capsules and glutamine powder. A household section contains a product called Bio-Insektal, and a tattoo-care line is run through a separate website.

The fourth area, natural cosmetics, is where Vimere sits. Much of that line is built around what the company calls oxygen-based care: a calendula shower lotion and shampoo, an oxygen herbal oil, the Viol ointment and massage oils, and the Vinoy facial-care series. Other neighbours on the shelf include Viasan, Venoxal, the ViSola +25 sun fluid and a calendula ointment. Many of the company's product names begin with "Vi-", a pattern Vimere shares.

## Philosophy & positioning

The idea behind Vimere is summed up in the company's opening line for the product: sweating has to happen, but body odour does not. Via Nova explains that fresh sweat is normally odourless, and that it only begins to smell once bacteria on the skin break down some of its components. In the company's view, conventional deodorants often give reliable protection for only a few hours and can still irritate the skin.

Vimere is therefore not designed to stop sweating. The maker describes it instead as "the completely different long-term deodorant", one that removes the basis of life for skin bacteria and fungi for up to ten days [3]. Via Nova also calls the cream skin-friendly and caring, and says it works against foot odour as well, adding "sneakers!" by way of example.

The wider values on the company's website are stated for Via Nova as a whole rather than for Vimere alone. The company says it makes its products as close to their natural state as possible, strictly rejects animal testing when trialling its preparations, and produces and packs them as gently on the environment as it can [2]. It describes its mission as solving problems of the musculoskeletal system or the skin through the power of nature. No third-party certifications, such as a certified natural-cosmetics or cruelty-free seal, are documented for the cream.

## Products & innovation

The only product under the name is Vimere Deo-Creme, a 30 ml tin with the German pharmacy number (PZN) 04991737. The company says it is made of valuable natural substances. Its published ingredient list, however, opens with petrolatum, which the German product page describes as pharmaceutical white petroleum jelly. This is followed by zinc oxide, modified potato starch and talc. Further down come peanut oil, calendula oil, vitamin E in the form of tocopheryl acetate, and essential oils from two Cymbopogon grasses. Scent components such as limonene, citral, geraniol, citronellol and linalool are also listed.

Vitamin C, listed as ascorbic acid, has a specific role. On the product page Via Nova says the cream uses vitamin C as a natural preservative [3]. The company's own overview of its cosmetics range describes Vimere differently, as a long-lasting deodorant cream "without alcohol, aluminium salts and preservatives" [5]. Both statements appear on the maker's website; the more detailed product page and the ingredient list both point to vitamin C acting as the preservative.

What sets the cream apart in daily use is its routine, which the company describes in detail [4]. Users are told to stop their usual deodorant first. After a shower or bath, ideally in the evening, they apply Vimere generously under the arms where the underarm hair grows, between the toes and on the soles of the feet, without rubbing it in. Because the cream absorbs slowly, the first application should be repeated on the second day. After that, the company says, users quickly settle into a personal rhythm of seven or ten days. Washing, swimming, showering and the sauna are said not to affect it. According to Via Nova, one tin lasts roughly four to six months.

The ingredient list also includes peanut oil. The petrolatum base, a mineral-oil product, has been listed as a drawback by an outside comparison site.

## Recognition

No awards are documented for Vimere, and it has received little editorial coverage. The most visible outside assessment comes from vergleich.org, a German comparison website that earns commission from linked shops. In its deodorant-cream comparison updated in October 2026, the site placed Vimere second of twelve products with a rating of "very good" [10]. It listed the cream's aluminium-free formula and long-lasting effect as advantages. As drawbacks, it named that the product is not suitable for vegans and that it contains mineral oils. The same page noted that the cream comes in an aluminium tin, which it considered less hygienic to use than the tubes of some rival products. The site does not describe any laboratory testing behind its ranking.

Customer opinion is more divided. On the German online pharmacy medpex, the cream holds an average of 4.0 out of 5 from 11 reviews dated between 2007 and 2025 [11]. Several reviewers report seven to ten days without odour, some while camping or travelling, and one describes a single tin lasting about a year. Others report the opposite. One reviewer noticed odour within a 12-hour office day after a morning application, another found that the effect faded after about half a day, and one reviewer with sensitive underarm skin reported irritation. The pharmacy states that its reviews are not checked for authenticity before publication.

## Current status

Vimere is an active product. As of October 2026 it remained listed on the manufacturer's website with its pharmacy number, and a comparison site showed it as available for immediate delivery. The most recent customer review on medpex is dated 4 October 2025 [11].

The product is distributed mainly through German pharmacies, where any branch can order it using its pharmacy number, and it is also offered through the company's factory shop in Kempten. The company website lists no social media accounts for Vimere or for Via Nova.
