PGP Hautschutz

The company dates its heritage to 1923, when Peter Greven founded a soap and glycerine factory in Bad Münstereifel-Iversheim. That factory is the starting point of the wider Peter Greven Group rather than of the present legal entity, but PGP Hautschutz presents the century-long story as its own, and Dreumex likewise described PGP in 2025 as part of a group founded in 1923.

A business devoted to skin cleansers came later. According to the company's timeline, Chemische Fabrik Iversheim, which sold cleansers under the IVRAXO name, was set up in 1958; the parent group's own timeline dates its start to November 1956. In 1998 this business became Peter Greven Hautschutz GmbH & Co. KG.

The year 2006 marked a clear break. The skin-protection business moved to a new headquarters in the "Am Silberberg" industrial park on the outskirts of Euskirchen [4], and German Wikipedia records that it was split off into a separate subsidiary that year [11]. The legal entity behind today's company was first registered in 2004 as Greven Hautschutz Verwaltungs GmbH and took its current name in December 2008 [13]. The commercial register still gives the parent group's site in Bad Münstereifel as its address, while the company itself names Euskirchen. In 2017 the Greven word mark was registered, and it replaced IVRAXO as the name of the cleanser line.

The group says it offers a complete programme for preventing work-related skin disease: protection before work, cleansing, care afterwards, disinfection and dosing technology. The products are made for professional and workplace settings rather than for everyday retail cosmetics.

Five brands make up the current portfolio. Physioderm, taken over in 2008, also gave the company its present legal name, and Myxal arrived in the same deal. Greven carries on the older IVRAXO cleanser line under the family name. Lordin joined in 2006, and Dreumex, a Dutch brand, is the newest addition. A sixth range, Lindesa, acquired in 2008, still appears on the company's German-language pages as Lindesa Professional.

Much of the company's growth has come from buying established skin-care names from other manufacturers. In 2006 it acquired the Lordin brand from Chemische Fabrik Carl Wilden GmbH of Rödermark [2]. Two years later it took over the Physioderm, Myxal and Lindesa product ranges from the Woellner Group and changed its name to Peter Greven Physioderm GmbH [2].

The most recent deal crossed a border. PGP Hautschutz acquired the Dutch company Dreumex B.V. with effect from 1 August 2025 [10]. According to Dreumex, it keeps its own name and identity and operates as a subsidiary of Peter Greven Physioderm GmbH within the Peter Greven Group.

PGP Hautschutz is privately held. The Peter Greven Group lists it as a subsidiary of Peter Greven GmbH & Co. KG, the group's parent company in Bad Münstereifel [8]. The commercial register names Greven GmbH as its known shareholder [13], and the business publication Die Deutsche Wirtschaft states that the Greven family owns the group [14]. The group itself counts family management among its main strengths. One of the company's managing directors, Peter Greven, is the founder's grandson [11]. No stock-exchange listing is documented.
