Overview
Aeno is a smart-home appliance brand created by ASBISc Enterprises Plc, a Cyprus-based IT-distribution group [5]. It is not a cosmetics line: its place in beauty catalogues comes entirely from its personal-care devices, chiefly hair dryers and stylers, alongside electric toothbrushes, dental irrigators and body scales. The wider range stretches well beyond grooming into heating, cleaning, air treatment and kitchen appliances, all controlled through a smartphone app and positioned as affordable smart technology for the home.
The brand was launched on 6 December 2021 [5], and it remains active. Its current catalogue is live, its social channels are maintained, and the company says its products are sold across 32 countries.
Origin and ownership
Aeno was conceived and launched by ASBISc Enterprises Plc, whose chief executive, Serhei Kostevitch, described it as an effort to "strengthen our brand portfolio with a new brand of smart home appliances" [5]. The parent is a long-established distributor of IT and electronics products, and Aeno functions as its own-brand entry into the consumer smart-appliance market.
Sources point to two different countries depending on what is being measured. The brand owner's domicile is Cyprus, where ASBISc Enterprises Plc is based; the company's own launch announcement, however, records that manufacturing takes place in China, at what it calls a "state-of-the-art manufacturing facility" [5]. The Cypriot location reflects corporate ownership, while production is carried out in China.
According to the launch announcement, the brand's purpose is to "make smart technologies more accessible, taking on an everyday routine and lessening the burden of housework" [5]. Aeno frames this in broad terms, saying it wants to make "the most desired smart features open to everyone."
Products and technology
Within beauty, the brand's flagship is the HD5 AI ProDryer, sold in three colourways (HD5B, HD5G and HD5W). The hair dryer is built around a brushless motor rated at up to 110,000 rpm and a set of features the company markets under an "AI" label, including automatic temperature control, an auto start-stop function and overheating protection, which Aeno states are patented [4]. It also uses ionic technology, described as emitting negative ions to reduce frizz and static and improve shine, and an infrared feature the company calls InfraCare, based on 490-nanometre light [4]. A company review of the dryer describes an "intelligent temperature control system" that adjusts heat "50 times every second" [6]. The line also includes earlier HD1 to HD4 dryers and the HS1 hair styler and dryer.
The personal-care category extends to electric toothbrushes, dental irrigators and body scales, which were among the appliance types listed at the brand's 2021 launch [5]. Hair dryers and other beauty devices were added to the range afterwards.
Sustainability
Aeno lists sustainability among its stated brand values. The company says it uses "100% sustainable packaging," makes energy-efficient products and supplies digitised, paper-free manuals.
Recognition
The brand received a Red Dot Product Design Award in 2023, which it cites for its product design and smart innovation [2].
Current status
Aeno is an active brand. Its product catalogue remains live, its Instagram, Facebook and YouTube channels are maintained, and the company reports distribution across 32 countries through its parent, ASBISc Enterprises Plc.
