American Dream

American Dream is a British cosmetics company founded in 1980 by Pal Sahney and run as a family business.[4] Headquartered in the United Kingdom and trading as American Dream Cosmetics Ltd, it is known chiefly for a line of cocoa butter creams, alongside oils, serums, fragrances and hair care aimed at dry and dry-prone skin.

The company remains active. Its products are sold worldwide through wholesale and retail channels, and leadership has passed to a second generation: founder Pal Sahney's daughter, Jas Sahney, has developed new product lines and expanded the business into continental Europe.[4]

American Dream was founded in 1980 by Pal Sahney and describes itself as a family-run business.[4] Its current leadership includes his daughter Jas Sahney, credited with creating the brand's cocoa butter range and with establishing American Dream EUROPE, a satellite division based at company-owned premises in Spain.[4]

The brand's own account separates the founding of the company from the arrival of its signature product. While the business dates to 1980, American Dream says it draws on "25 years of experience formulating skincare for dry and extra dry skin", and its first cocoa butter cream — now the foundation of what it calls the Heritage Collection — was developed roughly 25 years ago, which places that product around 2000 rather than at the company's founding.[2][4]

Cocoa butter sits at the centre of the range. The heritage cocoa butter skin care line remains the brand's foundation, joined by newer offerings that include advanced cocoa butter formulas, serums, body oils, fragrances and hair care.[4] Among the named products is the Miracle Serum, a concentrated formula the company says targets hyperpigmentation, dark spots, under-eye circles and razor bumps.[2]

On its ingredients page the company foregrounds naturally derived actives, describing cocoa butter as "Nature's ultimate moisturiser", shea butter as "Nature's ultimate healer" and aloe as "Nature's ultimate hydrator".[3] Other listed ingredients include vitamin E, kojic acid, turmeric, calendula, argan oil and salicylic acid for skin, and coconut oil, Jamaican black castor oil and avocado oil for hair.[3] The site makes no organic, vegan or cruelty-free claims, and no third-party certifications are documented.

American Dream frames its approach around individual need rather than a single formula, summed up in the line "You're unique, so we've developed the best skin and hair care products just for you" and the tagline "For everyone. For everywhere."[2] It presents its goods as premium products offered at affordable rates, and it distributes worldwide, assigning dedicated account managers to the distributors, wholesalers and retailers it supplies.[4]

American Dream is an active, UK-based family company. Its products continue to be sold internationally, and it has kept developing new cocoa butter lines while running its European division in Spain.[4] The brand has drawn little mainstream beauty-press coverage; most third-party visibility comes through retailers specialising in cocoa butter and multicultural beauty products.
