According to dr. bosshammer, the high whey content helps stabilise the skin's protective acid layer and its natural pH, and a special process preserves components of the whey such as vitamins, immunoglobulins and proteins. The preservative-free description applies only to the lip balm. The wash lotion's published ingredient list includes several preservatives, among them sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, phenoxyethanol, a group of parabens and methylisothiazolinone [4].
