A history page tied to the brand's lineage dates the founding to 1955 and credits Dr. Virgilio Vitali, describing the parent Laboratoires Biologiques as established "at the beginning of the 1950s in Sion, in Valais" [6]. Other accounts, drawn from Valmont brand histories, name the chemist Nadja Avalle as a co-founder of Laboratoires Biologiques Arval in 1952 [7].
