Overview
BADERs Gesundheit is a German health-products brand sold mainly through pharmacies. The company dates its start to 1998, when it introduced a double-distilled tea tree oil, Teebaumöl MA-100, as its first pharmacy-exclusive product [2]. Over the following decades its range shifted towards functional chewing gum and functional teas, and the tea tree oil is today its only skin-care item.
The brand is run by Baders Gesundheit GmbH, which gives its address as Klötze, Germany. It remains active: it launched a ginger chewing gum in 2024 and, in 2026, announced a partnership with the supplement brand Algomed.
Origin & founders
According to its own history, BADERs Gesundheit began with a simple idea: health products that combine function with enjoyment. The first of them was Teebaumöl MA-100, a tea tree oil that the company still calls "the classic from the pharmacy". From the outset the brand chose pharmacies as its sales channel, a decision that continues to shape how it presents itself.
The brand gives 1998 as its founding year [2]. The business-register service North Data lists 27 July 2004 as the date the operating company was entered in the commercial register in Frankfurt am Main [6]. The two dates refer to different things: the earlier one to the brand, the later one to the legal entity that now carries it.
History & milestones
The defining step came in 2000, when the company launched PROTECT, a line of functional chewing gums for dental care and oral hygiene. BADERs Gesundheit describes this line as "the heart of the brand", and it has remained the centre of the range since.
Teas followed as a second pillar. In 2015 the company widened its tea range with blends such as Kurkuma in Ingwer (turmeric in ginger) and Guarana Rising Sun, alongside other teas it groups under the label "functional teas". The gum line grew again in 2024 with PROTECT Ingwer, a ginger chewing gum containing natural gingerol, a compound found in ginger.
The most recent milestone is the 2026 partnership with Algomed. In the company's words, the two brands are pooling "values, competence and innovative strength" and starting "a new chapter" together [2].
Ownership
No parent company is publicly named for BADERs Gesundheit, and the brand describes its tie with Algomed as a partnership rather than a change of ownership. According to BADERs Gesundheit, Algomed adds science-based dietary supplements to its portfolio. Algomed's own website identifies its operator as Algenfarm Klötze GmbH & Co. KG, a producer of algae-based products such as spirulina and chlorella based in the same town [7].
The company's registration details are not entirely consistent. Its legal notice gives the Klötze address but still cites a Frankfurt am Main register number (HRB 42351) [4]. North Data lists Baders Gesundheit GmbH at the same Klötze address under the district court of Stendal, with the register number HRB 37283 [6]. The register describes the company's purpose as the development and sale of products and services in health and personal care.
Philosophy & positioning
The brand's tagline, "Funktionale Gesundheit, natürlich wirksam", translates roughly as "functional health, naturally effective". Its stated values are natural active ingredients, science and innovation, and pharmacy standards. The company says every product starts with one question: how natural active ingredients can be used to make a real difference in daily life. It describes the answer as recipes that are functional, pleasant-tasting and based on scientific findings.
BADERs Gesundheit leans on measurable specifications rather than lifestyle imagery. After listing the cineole limit of its tea tree oil and the xylitol share of its gums, it adds that these are "not marketing claims" but "measurable standards" [2]. The company says its products are made in Germany and Switzerland, and that every batch is checked from the raw material's country of origin through to incoming-goods inspection in Frankfurt.
Distribution stays close to the pharmacy counter. The company says its products are sold in pharmacies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Greece [3], and that a growing number of online pharmacies also carry them. Its website additionally links to a brand store on Amazon.
Products & innovation
Teebaumöl MA-100 is the brand's skin-care product. The company describes it as 100 percent Australian Melaleuca alternifolia oil, distilled twice in what it calls the "DD process". The product page specifies a terpinen-4-ol content of at least 39 percent and a cineole content of at most 3 percent, two constituents used to grade tea tree oil [5]. The same page says the oil meets the pharmaceutical quality of the European Pharmacopoeia, exceeds the ISO 4730-2017 standard and is produced under Good Manufacturing Practice. BADERs Gesundheit describes the oil as antiseptic, antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial, and suggests it for blemished skin, pimples, foot and nail fungus and warts, as well as for gargling and inhaling during colds [5].
The PROTECT gums are built around xylitol, a plant-based sugar substitute. According to the company, the oral-hygiene gum contains 60 percent xylitol of pharmaceutical quality together with alkaline mineral salts, which it says support the remineralisation of tooth enamel. The gum is sugar-free with a light spearmint flavour. The brand's FAQ states that numerous studies have shown xylitol can significantly inhibit tooth decay [3]. All of its gums are described as sugar-free and lactose-free. PROTECT uses a firmer "non-sticking" gum base, which the company says is less likely to cling to dentures, though it offers no guarantee. Some of the gums contain L-carnitine, which the company says it sources from the Swiss manufacturer Lonza, produced by biosynthesis without animal raw materials.
The tea range is marketed for energy, relaxation and immune support. The TAI CHI organic green tea is, according to the company, certified under EC Regulation No. 2029/91 [3]. North Data lists several trademarks connected with the company, among them PROTECT, TAI CHI, FitGum, FitBon and Amax [6].
Current status
BADERs Gesundheit is an active brand. Its most recent product launch was PROTECT Ingwer in 2024, and in 2026 it announced the Algomed partnership, which it presents as a way to bring its pharmacy-exclusive products directly to customers' homes. The brand's website carries a 2026 copyright notice and lists the Klötze address as its base.
