Overview
Beso Beach is a Spanish niche fragrance line that grew out of a beach restaurant of the same name in Formentera, in the Balearic Islands. The perfume project was presented at the Esxence niche-fragrance fair in Milan in 2019, developed in collaboration with the Barcelona house Carner Barcelona [4]. Its founding date depends on which entity is meant: the original Beso Beach restaurant was started in Formentera in 2012 by Rafa Viar and Angie López [2], while the perfume line itself dates to 2019 [4]. The brand remains active, with new fragrances released as recently as 2025.

Origin and founders
The Beso Beach story begins not with scent but with food. According to the company's own account, the brand "was born in Formentera" as a beach bar serving Basque-Mediterranean cuisine, founded by Rafa Viar and Angie López [2]. What began as a restaurant gradually expanded into a wider lifestyle concept spanning clothing, jewellery, accessories and, eventually, perfume — described by the company as something that "started as a restaurant" and "became a way of life". The restaurant group went on to operate venues in Formentera, Ibiza, Sitges on the Catalan coast, and Tulum in Mexico.
The fragrance arm arrived later. The earliest perfume edition was created around 2018, with the line presented publicly at Esxence in 2019. The aim, as the brand frames it, was to let guests "take a piece of that home with them" — turning the atmosphere of its beach clubs into something wearable.
Philosophy and positioning
Editorial coverage has described Beso Beach as "a destination brand rather than just a perfume brand," making scents that "evoke and reference the culture of hot coastal resorts, but in a classy way" [3]. The fragrances are organised loosely around moments and places: the debut trio was each tied to a different time of day at a different beach setting, built around the Italian idea of dolce far niente, the pleasant idleness of doing nothing.
The company summarises its approach as "natural materials, honest design, and attention to detail," adding "no artifice" [2]. Its motto is "No Hay Verano Sin Beso" — "There Is No Summer Without Beso".
Products
Beso Beach launched with three fragrances at Esxence 2019, each created by an established perfumer and inspired by a specific locale: Bendito Beso ("Blessed Kiss"), composed by Olivier Cresp and evoking early morning on Formentera; Beso Canalla ("The Scoundrel's Kiss") by Annick Menardo, set at midday in Tulum; and Beso Negro ("The Kiss of Darkness") by Christophe Raynaud, drawn from nighttime in Sitges [4].
The catalogue has expanded steadily since. A later group of releases, reported variously as the "Las Islas" or "Salinas" collection, arrived in 2024 and included Beso de Sal, composed by Alberto Morillas [6], alongside Beso de Sol and Beso de Fuego. Beso de Mar followed in 2025, described as inspired by the turquoise waters of Formentera [7]. The fragrance encyclopedia Wikiparfum lists eleven fragrances in the brand's collection, with the newer releases marked as its latest [5] — a catalogue that has clearly continued to grow beyond the original 2019 trio.
Sustainability
The company states that it is "committed to not using polluting materials" in any of its products, and says nature "has been part of our identity from day one". It also reports that each year it supports two non-profit organisations working on social and environmental causes [2].

Current status
Beso Beach is active. New fragrances launched through 2024 and into 2025, including Beso de Mar, and the brand maintains international retail distribution beyond Spain. Its catalogue has continued to expand well past its original launch, indicating an ongoing rather than dormant operation.
