Overview
Blancheide is an Italian-French niche perfume house built around the work of perfumer Pierre Stéphane Rubis. It pairs the raw-material tradition of Grasse, the historic centre of French perfumery, with Italian design, and presents itself as the maker of "refined and contemporary fragrances, guardians of promises they know how to keep." Since 2015 the brand has been owned and exclusively distributed by Officina Parfum (Officina s.r.l.), based in Parma, Italy [6].
The brand's origins are dated differently depending on the source. Officina Parfum, the current owner, describes Blancheide as "a brand of artistic perfumery created in the '90s" by Rubis [6]. The fragrance database Fragrantica instead records the line's earliest edition as 2016 [8] — the year a new collection was launched after the 2015 acquisition, rather than the original founding. The exact founding year is not stated; the company places it in the 1990s.

Origin and founder
Blancheide is the personal collection of Pierre Stéphane Rubis, who recounts his own history on the brand's site. Born in Rome, he says he was drawn from an early age to both architecture and the scent of incense in the city's churches [1]. After moving to Grasse he first studied architecture for five years, then enrolled at the Grasse School of Perfumery, supporting himself by preparing natural-essence concentrates at Maison Tombarel Frères — a supplier of raw materials for fine perfumery that the brand notes won a gold medal at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris [1].
By his account, the owner of Tombarel Frères later sent him to the company's perfume shop in Paris, where years spent serving an international clientele taught him to read customers' tastes and pushed him toward composing his own fragrances. Rubis frames the resulting collection as a response to the demanding women he met during that period, and signs off on the brand's story by correcting the title "perfumer" to the French parfumeur.
The name itself joins the Italian bianco (white) and idea: according to the brand, white contains every colour of the spectrum, just as a finished perfume synthesises many separate essences [3].
Ownership
Officina Parfum, the trading name of Officina s.r.l. in Parma, states that it purchased the Blancheide brand in 2015 [6]. The company describes keeping Rubis — "the perfumer from Grasse who had developed the fragrances marketed under the Blancheide brand" — and giving him creative freedom over ingredients and craftsmanship [6]. In 2016 it launched a new Blancheide collection including Le Supreme Patchouly and Rose [6]. The brand site's footer identifies Officina s.r.l. as the exclusive Italian distributor of Blancheide.
According to the owner, the relaunch was built around an unusually accessible price for the niche segment: Blancheide was "conceived as a gateway brand attracting new customers to the world of artistic perfumery," and the company describes this pricing as central to its success.
Products and positioning
The collection centres on a range of eau de parfum sprays, each organised around a single dominant essence. Titles include Supreme Patchouly, Vanille, Rose, Ambreide, Argentique, Kalila, L'Eau Lita, Maè, Nuit Poudrée and Taitù Tiarè. Rubis's narrative ties several of them to specific raw materials he sought out on his travels — bergamot from Italy, orange blossom from Tunisia, Tolu balsam from Colombia, cocoa from São Tomé and Príncipe, and the Rosa Centifolia of Grasse [1]. The house also produces a bath and body line, described by Fragrantica as an "exclusive cosmetic line" of products such as body creams and shower gels [8].
A recurring concept in the brand's marketing is Aromacromie, its term for fragrance layering — combining two or more scents to create new accords. Blancheide describes the practice with the phrase "the art of mixing fragrances knows no limits" [4], and the niche retailer Mouillettes & Co. similarly characterises the brand around fine raw materials and layering [7]. The company says a perfumer should command at least 2,500 raw materials, favouring natural ones [3].
Current status
Blancheide is an active brand. Its website carries a 2026 copyright, it maintains Instagram and Facebook accounts, and Fragrantica lists fragrance editions through 2023 [8]. Distribution is described as exclusive niche, with Italy as the primary visible market, though the line is also retailed in parts of the Nordic region.
