ByLykke is a Danish skincare company based in Aalborg, built around a proprietary bovine-colostrum ingredient the brand calls Colostrum Complex. Founded by Pia Lykke Bertelsen, it develops and makes its products in Denmark and sells them directly to consumers, with a catalogue that spans skincare, supplements, oils and hair care. ByLykke's formulas are built around Colostrum Complex, an active the company says was developed in collaboration with Aalborg University and refined over roughly three years of research [5]. The brand describes colostrum as "a concentrated source of bioactive nutrients" and says the raw material is isolated and activated through what it calls advanced processing before it is used in skincare.

The company lists several partners in the ingredient's development, including St Mary's Hospital in London, which it says tested the ingredient's activity, and a researcher in Austria credited with identifying an anti-inflammatory effect [5]. ByLykke states that results relating to the ingredient were published in the journal New Microbiologica in 2010 [5]. A 2014 Danish lifestyle feature separately reported that colostrum had been used in a 2007 research project at Aalborg University and was assessed there as having an anti-inflammatory effect [6].

The colostrum itself is sourced from New Zealand. In the same 2014 feature, Pia Lykke explained that she obtained the raw milk from New Zealand because a comparable Danish product had not been possible to produce, and characterised the New Zealand material as freshly drawn and of high purity [6]. The finished products are developed and manufactured in Denmark.

The brand's range includes several colostrum-based products — among them a Colostrum Creme, a facial serum, an original skin cream and a body lotion — alongside supplements, oils and hair care. Its stated mission is that "skincare should hold both uncompromising knowledge and heartfelt care," and its tagline, in Swedish, translates roughly as "pure from nature — without the excess."

ByLykke describes its products as cruelty-free, free of parabens and added fragrance, and made with minimal, sustainable packaging. On sourcing, the company says its suppliers harvest colostrum only after the calf's own nutritional needs are met. The line is presented as suited to dry, sensitive and reactive skin; the 2014 feature noted its use among people with conditions such as eczema and rosacea [6]. The brand's own values, as it states them, centre on simplicity, efficacy and transparency, with a content library of skin-care articles running alongside the shop.

ByLykke remains an active, founder-led business. The company is listed as active in the Danish CVR business registry [7] and runs a direct-to-consumer storefront in multiple languages with a current product catalogue and an ongoing journal of skin-care articles. It remains a small independent brand rather than a widely recognised international name.
