Overview
Claudio Zucca Parfums is an independent Italian perfume house based in Seveso, in the Monza and Brianza province north of Milan. It was founded by the perfumer Claudio Zucca together with his wife, Nadia Zucca, and released its first commercial fragrances in 2022 [9]. The house works exclusively in extrait de parfum, the most concentrated form of fragrance, and presents each scent as a way of turning a personal memory into something that can be worn.
The brand belongs to a wave of small-batch artisanal perfumery that emerged in Italy after 2020. Its founder is self-taught, and the collection has grown to thirteen fragrances released at roughly one or two a year. The company remains active, with launches recorded through 2025 and a further edition listed for 2026 [9].
Origin & founders
Claudio Zucca was born in 1985 in the province of Milan and grew up around his mother's love of perfume, which he has described as the source of his own interest in scent. He trained and worked as an architect before turning to fragrance. According to the company, the brand unites "art, memory and authenticity," with every perfume conceived as a fragment of a lived experience.
The decisive event came in 2016, when Zucca lost his mother. In an interview with the fragrance site Fragrantica, he framed perfumery as a way out of grief: "Perfumery saved my life because it was the only thing that helped me to come out from a very dark situation" [10]. He has said his mother taught him about scent, and that composing fragrance became the means he found to work through that loss. He developed his technique alone, and retailers who carry the line describe long nights of blending and self-taught study of perfume formulation while he was still working in architecture [11].
Zucca built the house with his wife, Nadia, who partnered with him to develop the collection [2]. The business is registered in Seveso, where the fragrances are assembled. One authorised retailer traces his start to "a maternal lineage imbued with an ardor for fragrances" and the aromatic environment of his childhood in the Milan provinces.
History & milestones
The brand's roots are personal rather than corporate. The pivotal moment came in 2016 with the death of Zucca's mother, which he has described as the turn that led him to perfumery. The first commercial fragrances, Deep Water and Eden Amber, followed in 2022 [9]. At the time of his Fragrantica interview the line comprised seven perfumes; it has since expanded to thirteen.
Velvet Rose arrived in 2023, Vanilla Pancake in 2024 — later reissued as a Christmas limited edition — and Rose du Matin in 2025. The house records no acquisitions and remains under its founders' ownership.
Philosophy & positioning
The house frames each fragrance as what it calls "an invisible photograph" — a scent built to relive a specific memory. Its tagline is "the essence of olfactory memory," and the company groups its identity around three stated values: artisanal refinement, a "living olfactory memory," and what it terms distinctive exclusivity, the last referring to bottles finished by hand so that no two are identical.
Claudio Zucca Parfums positions its scents as unisex. The company states that "all fragrances are designed to be worn by anyone, because elegance and emotion have no gender" [8], and describes them as enveloping, intense and long-lasting. Independent retailers echo this framing, presenting the line as an attempt to offer something distinct within a crowded fragrance market.
Products & innovation
Every fragrance in the range is an extrait de parfum at 35 percent concentration, a strength at the high end of the category. The company says the perfumes are created and packaged in Italy with attention to raw materials and handcrafted detail, including hand-finished resin caps that vary from bottle to bottle.
The collection numbers thirteen scents. Alongside the early releases Deep Water and Eden Amber, it includes Bois Primitif, Mineral Wood, Benjoin en Fleur, Velvet Rose, Cereal Break, Vanilla Pancake, Musk Tuberose, Dolce Sicilia, Idi di Marzo, Rose du Matin and Royal Verbena; the brand lists Royal Verbena, Benjoin en Fleur, Velvet Rose, Deep Water and Bois Primitif among its bestsellers. Most of the line is sold in 50 ml bottles, alongside travel sizes and a discovery set that lets buyers sample several scents.
The house sells directly through its own website and through a network of stockists: sixteen niche perfumeries across Italy and a further twelve retailers abroad, in markets including Spain, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Ireland, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Canada and the United States [6].
Recognition
Coverage of the house has come mainly from Fragrantica, which published an interview with Zucca in 2023 and reported on later launches including Vanilla Pancake and Rose du Matin. On the Canadian retailer Parfum Exquis, the perfumer Bruno Perrucci is quoted endorsing the line, saying the fragrances "capture the soul of their creator" [11]. The brand carries user ratings on the enthusiast database Parfumo, where its perfumes hold an average score of 8.0 out of 10 across 64 ratings.
Current status
Claudio Zucca Parfums is an active brand. It has released fragrances annually since 2022, its most recent documented launch being Rose du Matin in 2025, with a 2026 edition also listed on its Fragrantica designer page [9]. Distribution spans direct online sales and stockists across Europe, the Americas and the United Arab Emirates.
