Summary

Overview

Creative Headz is a Swedish hair-salon chain and haircare brand based in Stockholm. It was founded in 2005, when Nathalie Akgün opened her first salon at Odengatan 75 in the Vasastan district [1]. The business is run by Akgün, who is founder and creative director, together with her sister Joceline Akgün, the company's CEO [1]. Alongside the salons, Creative Headz develops and sells its own line of styling products under the slogan "Tillverkade i Sverige • Framtagna av frisörer" (Made in Sweden, developed by hairdressers).

The brand operates on two fronts: a salon chain confined to central Stockholm, and a haircare product line distributed more widely. Across Nordic beauty retailers the products reach customers in Sweden, Denmark and Finland, while the salons remain a single-city operation.

Origin and founders

The company traces its start to 2005 and Nathalie Akgün's first salon on Odengatan [1]. According to Creative Headz, the customer's needs and wishes have been at the centre of the business since that opening, with the stated aim of offering first-class treatments in a welcoming environment. The company says its hairdressers are trained continuously in new techniques. From the original Vasastan location the chain expanded across the inner city, into neighbourhoods including Östermalm, Kungsholmen and Södermalm.

The number of salons differs between sources. The brand's current "Om oss" page states eleven salons in Stockholm [1], whereas its product shop's "Vår Story" page and earlier editorial coverage cite ten [2]. Recent third-party reporting agrees with the higher figure of eleven.

Products and positioning

Creative Headz frames its products as a way to bring salon-quality styling into the home. The company says the idea of an own-brand line had existed for some time but gained momentum when the hairdressing industry was hit hard by the pandemic [2]. The founders describe a meticulous process, taking more than three years to develop the range through collaboration between experienced hairdressers and product-development specialists [2].

The line spans hair creams, sprays, wax, dry shampoo, heat protection and styling kits, with named products such as the texture spray Big Hair Don't Care, the softening cream Nourish me, the dry shampoo Clean me up, and the moldable styling product Shape up. The company positions the range as high-quality, easy to use and unisex, and states that the products are manufactured in Sweden [3]. Creative Headz describes the goal as styling that is effective without feeling heavy in the hair.

Recognition and press

Coverage of Creative Headz has centred on its growth as a salon business. The Swedish business outlet Breakit ran a founder interview framed around expansion strategy, headlined "Vi måste finnas där kunderna är" (We have to be where the customers are) [5]. The Stockholm listings site Thatsup reported on the chain's expansion, including the opening of a fifth salon [4].

Current status

Creative Headz is active. Its Stockholm salon chain continues to operate and expand, and its own-brand haircare line, launched in the early 2020s, remains live with a current product catalogue.
