Dermedic

Dermedic is a Polish dermocosmetics brand created by the pharmaceutical manufacturer Biogened S.A., which is based in Łódź and was founded in 1949 [6]. The range is built around care for sensitive, allergic and hypersensitive skin, and the company markets it under the tagline "Relief for sensitive skin." Products are sold mainly through pharmacies rather than general retail [4], and the brand reports distribution in more than 40 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa [6].

The brand draws its formulating approach from Biogened's pharmaceutical work, positioning itself at the intersection of skincare and dermatology. Dermedic remains active: its blog was last updated in February 2025, and parent company Biogened was listed as a sponsor at the IMCAS World Congress 2026.

Dermedic is owned and manufactured by Biogened S.A., a pharmaceutical company headquartered at Pojezierska 99 in Łódź, Poland [4]. According to corporate copy, Biogened was established in 1949, and Dermedic uses "the resources, experience, and scientific research" of that parent company [6]. The exact year the Dermedic line itself launched is not stated; the brand describes itself only as having been on the market "for over 15 years," which would place its introduction around the late 2000s [6]. The 1949 date therefore reflects the heritage of the parent manufacturer rather than a documented founding year for the brand.

Biogened describes itself as a market leader in parts of the Polish hand-care and facial-moisturiser segments, citing IQVIA data, and states that its dermocosmetics use patented compositions of active ingredients [7].

Dermedic frames its products as dermocosmetics for "allergic, hypersensitive, and problematic skin," where, in the company's words, "gentleness combines with effectiveness" [2]. Its stated aim is to provide daily care for sensitive skin as supportive therapy during treatment and remission, delivering what it calls "maximum efficacy while maintaining optimal skin tolerance" — care intended for use "from the first day of life." The brand emphasises that science plays a central role in its development, drawing on expertise from skin-disease treatment and prevention.

The line is organised into nine targeted ranges, each addressing a particular concern: Hydrain (dry and dehydrated skin), Cicatopy (atopic dermatitis), Baby (infant care), Redness Calm (rosacea and vascular skin), Normacne (acne-prone skin), Capilarte (scalp and hair), Melumin (hyperpigmentation), Oilage (mature skin) and Sunbrella (UV protection).

Many Dermedic formulas are built on a low-mineralised hyperthermal water, which the brand describes as drawn from an artesian source in Central Europe at depths beyond 2,000 metres and filtered over roughly 27,000 years through water-bearing rock [7]. The company attributes soothing and regenerative properties to this water and presents it as a basis for products aimed at reactive skin.

The brand's ingredient glossary lists a number of proprietary complexes alongside familiar dermatological actives. These include AQUALARE®, a betaine and hyaluronic-acid system the company says provides 48-hour hydration; CICALINUM® komplex, formulated for atopic-dermatitis symptoms; and p-REFINYL®, intended to reduce the appearance of dilated pores. More widely recognised actives across the range include hyaluronic acid, urea, D-Panthenol, allantoin, glycolic and salicylic acids, and bisabolol.

Dermedic products are manufactured at Biogened's facilities in Łódź under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) pharmaceutical standards [2], and the parent company states that its formulations are patent-protected [7]. The brand says its products are "recommended by over 30,000 dermatologists worldwide" [2], a claim it presents as central to its dermatologist-endorsed positioning.

Dermedic is an active brand. It is owned by Biogened S.A., which is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and its most recent dated blog post appeared on 14 February 2025 [5]. Biogened, trading under the Dermedic name, was also listed among the sponsors of the IMCAS World Congress 2026, indicating continued trade presence.
