Parfums Dusita

Parfums Dusita is a Paris-based niche perfume house founded in 2016 by Pissara "Ploi" Umavijani, a self-taught perfumer born and raised in Bangkok [3]. The house specialises in extrait de parfum and eau de parfum, and frames each of its scents as an olfactory tribute to the poetry of the founder's late father, the Thai poet Montri Umavijani [3]. It remains an independent, founder-led brand, with a boutique in central Paris and ongoing activity into 2026 [1].

The name "Dusita" refers to a heavenly paradise, which the company describes as the joy and inner peace it seeks to evoke through its fragrances.

Pissara Umavijani grew up in Bangkok in a household she remembers as filled with art and built around a garden, and developed an early fascination with French perfumery [3]. Her father, Montri Umavijani, was a poet whose verses about his travels shaped her own ambition to one day move to France. She arrived in Paris around five years before founding the house, intending to build a career in perfumery, and taught herself to compose scents [3]. In a later interview she described blending as something she could lose herself in "without a sense of time," eventually deciding to combine the materials she had been collecting into finished compositions [6].

Parfums Dusita launched in 2016. According to the company, all of its perfumes are conceived as tributes to Montri Umavijani's poetry, drawing a direct line between the written word and scent: the brand has said that both poetry and perfume are means of connecting with others, stirring the imagination and appealing to the senses and the intellect [3].

The house works almost entirely in fragrance, offering extrait de parfum, eau de parfum, travel sizes, miniature collections, and hair and body mists. Dusita positions itself at the luxury end of niche perfumery; the company says its creations are made with premium quality and largely natural raw materials, with ingredients sourced through the Accords & Parfums composition house near Grasse, the historic centre of French perfumery [3]. For each fragrance, Umavijani also creates an illustration intended to capture the essence of the scent.

The brand describes its range as cruelty-free and vegan, and states a commitment to responsibly produced and ethically sourced ingredients [3]. Among its compositions, Mélodie de l'Amour has been singled out by critics; the trade publication The Sniff characterised it as a rich, honeyed white floral and described Dusita's work more broadly as "complex, multifaceted and yet wearable, vintage-leaning and yet thoroughly modern" [5].

Parfums Dusita has accumulated industry recognition since its first year. It was named Brand of the Year at the 2016 Adjiumi Award, and in 2017 Mélodie de l'Amour won Fragrance of the Year at the Art & Olfaction Awards [4]. Le Pavillon d'Or took the Niche Customer Choice prize at the FiFi Awards in 2019, the same year Splendiris was named Best Niche Perfume and Editor's Favorite by Fragrantica [4]. In 2022, Montri won a Celebrity Award at the FiFi Awards in Russia and was named Fragrantica's Best Fragrance of the year, and in 2023 Rosarine was voted Best Perfume of the year by the same readership [4]. Robb Report Malaysia, profiling Umavijani, described the house as "multi-award-winning" [6].

Parfums Dusita is active. It operates an online shop and a Paris boutique with click-and-collect, continued to win awards through 2023, and as of 2026 its website promotes recent launches and a Paris Perfume Week 2026 event [1]. The house remains independent and founder-led.
