It belongs to Huilerie Émile Noël, a family-run oil mill in Pont-Saint-Esprit in the Gard region of southern France, and grew out of that mill's long expertise in pressing seeds and fruits for oil [1]. Emma Noël is the cosmetics arm of Huilerie Émile Noël, a business whose roots reach back to 1920, when Émile Noël (Sr.) bought an old oil mill in Pont-Saint-Esprit [2]. The mill became, in 1972, the first in France to press organic seeds, and it later obtained Organic Fair Trade certification in 2003. The company marked its centenary in 2020 and remains family-owned, now run by the fourth generation of the founding family.

That heritage in cold-pressed oils is the foundation Emma Noël is built on. Where the parent business supplies culinary and cosmetic oils, the Emma Noël line applies the same virgin vegetable oils to skin and body care. The brand describes its purpose as making "organic cosmetics with respect for the skin, nature and those who cultivate our raw materials," and uses the tagline "L'huile source de soin" — oil, source of care.

The range is organised around two broad uses: products to nourish and hydrate, such as oils, balms and body lotions, and products to wash, including solid and liquid soaps and shower gels. Vegetable oils sit at the centre of the formulations, with argan, coconut and black cumin named among the key oils, and balms that combine shea butter with argan, coconut, monoï or damask rose. Émile Noël also says it works to keep French agriculture active and prefers French seeds over cheaper imported alternatives, and that its glass bottles and packaging are recyclable.

The brand is active. Its dedicated cosmetics shop is live at emmanoel.bio, and the parent company's journal records a recent relaunch — "Emma Noël fait peau neuve" — introducing a reworked range enriched with organic aloe vera juice [6]. A note of caution applies to one piece of activity evidence: a 2024 "Best Organic Product" award listed by the corporate site under the Emma Noël name was given to a black-garlic culinary product, not to a cosmetic, and so does not represent a cosmetics award for the line [9].
