Overview
Fascent is a French niche fragrance brand based in Paris, founded by two industry veterans, Fanny Fortin Descamps and Edwina Réthoré [8]. It builds its identity around unisex scents designed to be worn alone or layered together, a "mix and match" approach the company frames as a more instinctive and playful way to use perfume. The brand sells direct-to-consumer through its own site and through a growing network of retailers across Europe, the United States, Japan and the Middle East.
Sources disagree on exactly when the brand began. The trade publication Beauty Independent reports that Fascent launched in 2023 [8], while the brand's own blog and other French coverage point to public activity starting in 2024 — its earliest blog post dates to September 2024 [6]. The brand's website does not state a founding year. The company remains active and growing: it expanded into U.S. retail during 2025 and reported strong direct-to-consumer growth in its first full years of trading.

Origin and founders
Fascent was created by Fanny Fortin Descamps, who has described the conventional perfume world as "too exclusive, stereotyped, smooth, opaque and immutable" [9]. Her aim was to turn fragrance into what she calls a tool of style and personal expression — "modular, instinctive, alive" — rather than a fixed luxury ritual. She was joined by co-founder Edwina Réthoré, who, in the company's account, came on board to give shape to a freer and more conscious approach to perfumery.
Both founders bring fragrance-industry backgrounds. According to Beauty Independent, Descamps previously worked at Firmenich, CPL Aromas, Parfums de la Bastide and Guerlain, while Réthoré was most recently head of revenue at Nuud and held earlier roles at Merci Handy, Diptyque and LVMH [8]. The brand's name fuses "facettes" (facets) and "scent," a reference to the many sides the founders say a person expresses through what they wear.
Philosophy and positioning
Fascent positions itself, in its own words, as a "cool luxury, eco-responsible and inclusive" fragrance house. Two ideas run through its marketing: that perfume should be open to everyone, and that scents need not be tied to gender. The company states that its fragrances are unisex by design and meant to be combined, framing the practice of layering as an everyday creative act rather than a rule to follow. Its stated mission is to give people the freedom to use perfume "with more spontaneity, lightness and freedom" [9].
The brand also leans on accessibility of price. On its philosophy page it argues that quality perfume need not be prohibitively expensive, addressing itself "to all noses" and "to all budgets." Independent coverage has placed the brand within wider trends toward fragrance layering, unisex scent and clean beauty.
Products and innovation
The line consists of eau de parfum sprays sold in 30 ml bottles, alongside refill ampoules, two-fragrance duos and a discovery kit of sample vials. The collection has grown as new scents have launched; the brand's homepage lists eight fragrances, including Red Flag, Crème Brûlante, L'Eau d'Or Dort, Milky No Way, Sel à Vie, I Fig You, Radical Softness and Corn Star. Reported prices vary by market and date — Beauty Independent cited $78 per 30 ml bottle in the United States [8].
Several of the fragrances were developed with perfumers from the composition houses CPL Aromas and Firmenich [9]. The brand describes its scents in gourmand and atmospheric terms: Milky No Way around sandalwood, hazelnut milk and black pepper; I Fig You around fig leaf, green tea and vetiver; Sel à Vie as a salty summer scent of citrus and solar flowers.
A distinctive design feature is the cap, which the company says is 3D-printed from a corn-starch bioplastic. The brand reports a range of sustainability measures across its packaging: post-consumer recycled (PCR) glass bottles, glass-ampoule refills made "without plastic or aluminium," FSC-certified paper cartons and water-based printing inks. It also states that its formulas are made without preservatives, endocrine disruptors, additives, colorants or UV filters [4]. All products are described as made in France.
Recognition and press
As a young brand, Fascent's press record is short but includes coverage in the beauty trade. In October 2025, Beauty Independent published a feature profiling the founders, the company's funding and its move into U.S. retail [8]. The French men's title Masculin.com also covered the brand, describing it as a young French label "breaking the codes" of perfume with original, gourmand creations [11].
Current status
Fascent is active and in an expansion phase. The brand entered U.S. retail in 2025, with stockists including Credo Beauty, and Beauty Independent reported that direct-to-consumer sales rose 435% between September 2024 and September 2025, with projected sales of around $2.3 million for 2026 [8]. The same report described its funding as roughly $230,000 at launch followed by a further $115,000 in bank financing [8]. Distribution now spans France and much of Western Europe — including the Nordic market via Sweden — as well as the United States, Japan and the United Arab Emirates through retail partners.
