Froximun

Froximun is a German company based in Schlanstedt that develops, manufactures and sells products built around a single active ingredient: clinoptilolite, a naturally occurring zeolite mineral that the company processes into a trademarked form it calls MANC. Most of its range is registered as medical devices, either taken by mouth or applied to the skin, and the company addresses both people and animals. A small cosmetics line, sold as FROXIMUN Medical Cosmetics, draws on the same mineral.

The company dates its beginnings to 2001 [2], while a 2019 regional newspaper profile gives 2003 as the year Petra and Thomas Görner founded the firm [14]. The name FROXIMUN and the company's current form as a German stock corporation (Aktiengesellschaft, AG) both date from 2005. Froximun describes itself as owner-managed and remains active.

Froximun's own account of its origins is a family story rather than a business plan. According to the company, it began in 2001, when the family of the man who still runs the business faced serious illness among both his parents and his parents-in-law. Established medicine, the account continues, could offer little help, and the family came across a then little-known natural mineral said to help rid the body of harmful substances. The company's telling is notably cautious on this point: it describes the detoxifying effect as something the mineral was "allegedly" able to achieve, before going on to explain how a team of German doctors and scientists worked to develop it further.

The 2019 profile in the regional daily Volksstimme adds detail to the same story. It names Thomas Görner as the person who sent the mineral from Zagreb for his ill mother in 2001, and it credits him and Petra Görner with founding the firm in Schlanstedt. A later Volksstimme report, from 2021, describes Thomas Görner as founder and owner and says he founded Froximun AG "20 years ago" after encountering the effects of natural zeolite more or less by chance [15]. That framing lines up with the company's own 2001 starting point.

The business did not start out under the Froximun name. The company states that a firm called ASTRA H&D GmbH served as the predecessor of today's stock corporation until 2004, and that this predecessor was already working with zeolite-based products intended to bind and remove pollutants [3]. The FROXIMUN name itself first appeared in 2005, when the mineral was turned into a medical device of that name; the present company, the account says, grew out of that product.

The founding year depends on which milestone is taken as the start. The company places its origin in 2001. The Volksstimme profile of 2019 gives 2003 as the founding year and also reports that the company received its licence for Europe that year, when its granulate was first marketed as a food supplement. The company's corporate page, meanwhile, dates the AG form to 2005. This article follows 2001 as the year the business began, with 2003 and 2005 as the dates of its European licence and its present name and legal form.

The step that defined the company came in 2005. That year the mineral was registered as a medical device under the name FROXIMUN, which the company describes as the first product of its kind in Europe [2]. Medical devices have remained the core of the business since.

According to Volksstimme, the Froximun granulate received recognition under European Union legislation in 2016 [14]. By February 2019 the same newspaper counted 23 employees in Schlanstedt, plus a field sales force, and reported that the company had just launched a new website, froximunworld.de.

The 2019 profile also recorded a less welcome sign of the brand's reach. Counterfeit products had turned up on the market, and one fake was found to contain talc rather than the zeolite powder it claimed to be [14]. In response, the company added an anti-counterfeiting chip to its packaging. Its current website keeps a dedicated section on original products.

In October 2021, Petra Grimm-Benne, the social affairs minister of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, visited the Schlanstedt site. Volksstimme's report on the visit stated that the company's medical products had by then become known around the world.

Froximun AG is an owner-managed company organised as a German stock corporation. No parent company or acquisitions are documented. The company's legal notice lists Thomas Görner as its executive board and Dr. med. Jürgen Weber as chairman of the supervisory board [11].

Froximun presents itself first as a health company and only secondarily as a beauty brand. Its stated mission is that the health of people and animals, and keeping them healthy, sits at the centre of all its work. The company says its staff set out to develop and produce functional natural products based on zeolite and to make them available to people and their animals in high quality. Its tagline, "Lange gesund leben", translates roughly as "live long and healthy".

The company frames its values in a short sequence: scientifically founded, responsibly developed, manufactured with attention to quality. It addresses customers in both conventional medicine and naturopathy, and says it serves the prevention market as well as therapy and therapy-support segments. Alongside its medical devices, the company says it also offers diagnostic procedures.

Products are sold through several channels. The company runs its own factory shop online, operates a separate shop for specialist retailers, and works with a network of medical-device advisers and specialist trade partners. It states that it works with partners worldwide, and it publishes package leaflets in several languages.

Every Froximun product rests on MANC, short for the German "Modulierter, Aktivierter Natur-Clinoptilolith", or modulated, activated natural clinoptilolite. MANC is a registered trademark of Froximun AG [8], and the company says the ingredient is protected by an application patent, a patent covering a particular use rather than the substance itself [4]. No patent number is given.

The company keeps the whole production of MANC in house. It says every stage, from selecting the raw zeolite through grinding it to a very fine powder and processing it, up to finishing it as a medical device, takes place at its own production sites in Germany. It describes the results as natural products made in Germany.

The largest part of the range is the TOXAPREVENT line of oral medical devices. TOXAPREVENT MEDI PURE is aimed at the gut and TOXAPREVENT MEDI PLUS at the stomach; the company says these products are designed to strengthen the gut wall barrier and can be used both preventively and as part of therapy. TOXAPREVENT HALISTOP sits in the mouth and dental care category.

For the skin, the company offers two medical devices. FROXIMUN Hautpuder NC 100 is a skin powder whose number refers to its composition: 100 percent MANC with no additives. The company says studies and research projects showed faster wound healing than conventional methods, along with reduced wound pain [7]. TOXAPREVENT SKIN Suspension, sold in a 75 ml bottle, was previously used, according to the company, as a therapeutic component in clinics to support the healing of closed, itchy or slow-healing wounds. Froximun says its effect was dermatologically tested and confirmed by aesthetic clinics. More broadly, it states that in vitro and in vivo studies have shown how MANC works, and that because the mineral is not metabolised by the body, it has no known side effects. These are the company's own claims.

The one product Froximun files under cosmetics is FROXCURA MEDIC, a skin cream in a 100 ml dispenser, sold under the FROXIMUN Medical Cosmetics name for normal to sensitive skin. Besides MANC, the formula contains thistle oil, sesame oil, jojoba oil and cocoa butter. The company says the cream helps calm inflammation and counter outside skin irritation, and that the thistle oil supports the skin's renewal of its cells.

The range has also grown into oral care. DENTURA MED is a natural toothpaste based on MANC. In 2019 it was in a test phase, and Volksstimme reported that it had been developed in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute [14]. It now appears in the company's mouth and dental care range.

On quality, the company says its management system follows the requirements of the EN ISO 13485 standard for medical devices, including its 2021 amendment, along with applicable European medical-device rules [13]. It names TÜV Rheinland LGA Products GmbH as its notified body. No independent verification of these certifications is documented.

Froximun is active. Its website carries current product pages, a factory shop and a specialist-retailer shop, and a newsletter graphic on its homepage is dated February 2026 [1]. The company's quality documentation refers to standards amended in 2021 and to current European medical-device regulation, which indicates that the site is kept up to date even though no dated news posts appear on it.
