Summary

Overview

Hommer is a Greek men's grooming brand built around beard care, hair styling and traditional shaving. Its products draw on ancient Greek history and mythology, and the company says they are made with natural ingredients chosen to cleanse, moisturise and protect the beard, hair and body. The line is sold directly to consumers through the brand's own website, which ships worldwide.

The brand is operated by the Greek company CALYNDIA P.C. [3] Its online storefront remains active, with current pricing and in-stock and sold-out states, but its published content has not been refreshed in years: the most recent blog post is dated 18 October 2016 [6], and the main editorial coverage of the brand dates to around 2015 [9]. The store therefore appears maintained while the brand's marketing has gone quiet.

Thinner sourcing. The article relies largely on the brand's own statements (T2–T3). Glowpedia is seeking independent sources.

Name and concept

The name blends "Homer", the ancient Greek epic poet, with "homme", the French word for man [9]. That pairing captures the brand's positioning: a men's grooming label that frames beard care as something rooted in Greek heritage. According to Hommer, the beard is "the symbol of virility and wisdom", and the products are meant to offer what it calls a divine experience around it. The company sums up its outlook as "inspired by history, guided by nature, and shaped by knowledge".

Hommer's stated mission is to bottle the expertise of the Greeks in beard grooming and share that knowledge around the world [9]. The brand describes its team as professionals drawn from cosmetology, hair grooming and design.

Products

The range centres on beard grooming and extends across hair styling, traditional shaving, body wash, eau de toilette and accessories. Roughly forty-seven products span eight categories, with prices running from about €11 to €82. Two signature scents, "Long Journey" and "Home Island", recur throughout the line and appear in everything from beard oils to candles.

Signature items include the Beard Oil in both scents, an Epic Hair premium pomade, a trademarked balm sold as BALMADE, and an eau de toilette in the "Home Island" and "Long Journey" variants. The Beard Oil's scent is described by the company as a mix of woody, bitter-chocolate and vetiver notes. Its formula is built on natural oils — hemp, argan, barbary fig seed, avocado and olive among them — which the brand says regenerate and protect the beard and skin. Products carry a "Made in Greece, the land of bearded gods" origin statement [8]. The company states that all Hommer products are dermatologically tested [4].

Design and packaging

The brand's packaging was created by the agency Office Communication Consultants, with Minos Zarifopoulos as creative director [9]. It features Triton, a bearded mythological figure holding a trident, alongside illustration that the design team said references ancient Greek vessels and old-school navy tattoos. The brand's double-M logo is built on symmetry. In 2015 the design publication The Dieline featured the packaging, noting that it conveyed cleanliness, balance and sophistication [9].

Company and location

Hommer is run by CALYNDIA P.C., a Greek company [3]. Its location within Greece is recorded inconsistently across sources: the brand's own contact page gives a legal address in Saronida, in the Attica region [3], while the business database Tracxn lists the headquarters as Marousi, also in Attica [10]. All sources agree the brand is Greek.

The brand sells directly through its website and offers worldwide shipping, with free delivery on larger orders. A page headed "Where to Find" lists no named retailers or distributors, and no documented multi-country retail presence has been recorded, so the brand's reach is effectively single-country in scope.

Current status

Hommer's online store is operational as of mid-2026, carrying current euro pricing and live stock states [7]. At the same time, its public activity is dated: the blog shows no posts after October 2016 [6], and the most substantial outside coverage remains the roughly 2015 design feature in The Dieline [9]. The storefront is maintained, but the brand has not produced visible new marketing or editorial activity in several years.
