Summary

Overview

Inebrya is an Italian professional haircare brand founded in 1999 [3]. It belongs to Pettenon Cosmetics, a hair- and skin-care manufacturer based in San Martino di Lupari, in the province of Padua, and sells salon-focused shampoos, conditioners, masks, colour and styling products in more than 60 countries.

The name comes from the Italian verb inebriare — to delight, stimulate and enhance — and the brand frames its products around a sensory experience as much as technical performance. Inebrya remains active: its dedicated Inebrya Color subdomain is maintained in several languages with recent shade launches, while the main inebrya.it site was in the middle of a rebuild as of mid-2025, displaying a "new site coming soon" placeholder that directs visitors to an Amazon storefront.

Origin

Inebrya was launched in 1999 to serve professional hairstylists, and from early on positioned itself for international salon distribution. According to the Italian trade publication Estetica Export, the brand grew into what it describes as a reference point in the international cosmetic sector, built on a complete product assortment and what the company calls "the promise of a strong sensory experience." The founders of the brand itself are not named in available sources; the parent company's owning family is documented, but the individuals who launched Inebrya in 1999 are not.

Ownership

Inebrya is a brand of Pettenon Cosmetics, a company specialised in professional hair and skin care [4]. The corporate structure has two levels, and sources frame the parent differently. Editorial and distributor sources identify the brand's owner as Pettenon Cosmetics S.p.A. Società Benefit, operating under the management and coordination of the family holding AGF88 Holding S.r.l. [3][4][5]; a separate summary lists AGF88 Holding as the parent outright [6]. Both descriptions are consistent with the same arrangement: AGF88 Holding, controlled by the Pegorin family, exercises direction and coordination, while Pettenon Cosmetics is the operating company that owns the Inebrya brand. The two were separated in a 2023 demerger, after which Pettenon remained subject to AGF88's coordination [6].

Pettenon's own history predates Inebrya by half a century. The company was founded in 1946 as "Morgana" by Mario Pettenon, beginning in cosmetics with lipsticks and perfumes before a collaborator, Arturo Pegorin, steered it toward hairdressing products [5]. After Mario Pettenon died in 1988, Pegorin and his sons took over and renamed the firm Pettenon Cosmetics in honour of its founder. On 1 January 2025, Pettenon merged with G&P Cosmetics, integrating personnel, brands and production facilities [5]. The group reported a turnover of 178 million euro in 2024 and operates three production sites in San Martino di Lupari, Cartigliano and Sansepolcro. Within that portfolio, Inebrya sits alongside other Pettenon hair brands including Fanola, Alter Ego Italy and Echosline.

Philosophy and positioning

Inebrya is a professional, salon-distribution brand rather than a mass-market line. Its positioning centres on combining technical results with a sensory, fragranced ritual: Estetica Export describes the range as built around "irresistible fragrances," pastel packaging and creamy textures, while remaining functional and high-performing for hairdressers. The company places femininity and what it terms "sensorial experience" at the centre of its stated brand values, alongside research, a complete professional range and a "100% made in Italy" identity [3]. The current homepage placeholder carries the tagline La bellezza è in continua evoluzione ("Beauty is in continuous evolution").

Products and innovation

Inebrya's catalogue is organised into named professional lines covering colour, care and styling. Inebrya Color is described by the brand as the salon line for its colouring service, recently expanded with new series and shades. Other lines include Ice Cream; Blondesse No-Yellow, a toning range for cool blonde, bleached and grey hair; Greylosophy, a grey-hair treatment range formulated with avocado oil and shea butter; Style-In, a fifteen-product styling system split into hold, shape and finishing categories; and Up to You, described by the company as a 100% vegan curl and straightening line free from SLES and SLS sulfates and high in natural-origin, biodegradable ingredients [3]. Argan oil features in the brand's pro-age haircare. The company states that it uses patented formulas developed with an in-house research and development team to revitalise scalp and hair while respecting the hair fibre.

Sustainability

Inebrya's environmental commitments run largely through its parent. Pettenon Cosmetics has been a Società Benefit — a benefit corporation, legally committing a company to social and environmental goals alongside profit — since 2021 [5]. The company says it tripled its use of recycled plastic between 2021 and 2023, cutting new-plastic consumption by roughly 185,000 kilograms [5]. At the product level, the Inebrya Color line introduced what the brand labels a compostable case for its packaging [2]. Pettenon was also recognised as one of the more innovative companies in north-east Italy at an Open Innovation Day organised by the iNEST consortium, which links universities, research institutes and companies [5].

Recognition

Inebrya has been profiled by the Turin-based hair-industry publication Estetica Export, part of EsteticaNetwork, in a brand feature covering its history, product lines and positioning. It was also highlighted within Pettenon's portfolio in a 2025 Made in Italy Community article about the parent company. The brand has appeared at trade events including Cosmoprof North America in 2019.

Current status

Inebrya is active. The main inebrya.it site was undergoing a rebuild as of mid-2025, presenting a placeholder page while the Inebrya Color subdomain continued to operate with recent product launches across five language versions. The brand's parent group completed its merger with G&P Cosmetics on 1 January 2025, and Inebrya remains one of the group's core hair brands.
