The founder credit is similarly split between two members of the Sismanoglu family. In early 2014 the business operated as a sole proprietorship named "IvyBands.com," whose imprint listed Muzaffer Sismanoglu as managing director [3]. Özkan Sismanoglu appears as the sole inventor on the 2014 patent and the trademark filing, and later as managing director of the incorporated IVY GmbH [6]. The relationship between the two is not documented in the sources; Özkan Sismanoglu, as the named inventor and long-term managing director, is generally credited as the brand's founder.

The signature product is a hairband lined on the inside with velvet, intended to grip the hair without slipping or needing constant readjustment. The company describes the bands as holding "in the truest sense of the word," staying put through any activity [2]. The construction — an outer textile band, a velvet inner coating and an elastic fastening — was the subject of a German patent application (DE102014005209A1) filed in 2014, alongside a related utility model [13].
