Summary

Overview

Jumiso is a South Korean skincare brand based in Seoul and founded in 2016 [5]. It sits in the wave of Korean cosmetics that began exporting heavily in the mid-2010s, and it has built much of its visibility abroad through direct online sales and social media rather than legacy retail. The brand is best known for ingredient-led basics — niacinamide serums, snail mucin essences and hyaluronic acid toners — sold at indie price points.

The company is owned by Hello Skin Co., Ltd., also based in Seoul [6]. Jumiso remains active: as of 2025 it operated a US TikTok Shop alongside its main website, and its Instagram account reported roughly 124,000 followers.

Origin & founders

Jumiso was started in 2016 by Siheon Keum and his younger brother, while Keum was still a university student studying economics and international trade [5]. According to the distributor brand-story that recounts the founding, Keum grew up around the cosmetics business — his father supplied packaging materials — which gave him an early, practical view of how products are developed and where ingredient quality comes from. With Korean cosmetics exports climbing at the time, he set out to build a brand aimed at products that could perform well in overseas markets.

The name carries the brand's stated intent. It joins two Korean words, ju ("to give") and miso ("smile"), which the company frames as a commitment to easing customers' skin concerns and, in its own words, "giving smile to our customers" [6].

Ownership

Jumiso is managed by Hello Skin Co., Ltd. (styled "HELLO SKIN CO., LTD."), a Seoul-based company. The parent is confirmed by the brand's official Facebook page and by the European distributor Haru Haru Beauty, which describes Jumiso as "a Korean skincare brand from the company Hello Skin" [6]. One secondary retailer summary instead names the parent as "Hana Company," but that attribution is not corroborated by any primary source and appears to be an error [8].

The brand is otherwise independent. An external cruelty-free audit notes that Jumiso "is not owned by a parent company that tests on animals" [9].

Philosophy & positioning

Jumiso describes itself as "a personal skincare brand dedicated to the natural health and balance of your skin." Rather than chasing flawless results, the company says it focuses on "healthy and balanced skin instead of fitting into others' standards." Its stated mission is to develop products for a wide range of skin concerns through researched ingredient combinations, summed up in three core values it lists as "Balance + Improve + Effect." The brand's tagline is "Skincare for real progress" [10].

In positioning terms, Jumiso is generally placed as an accessible K-beauty label. One retailer describes it as offering "innovative K-Beauty products with highly effective ingredients such as vitamin C, niacinamide, and centella at a fair price," known for "fresh, youthful formulas that target skin concerns without irritating the skin." Its bundles have been sold roughly in the indie-to-mid range.

Products & innovation

Jumiso's range centres on cleansers, toners, serums and essences, and moisturizers. The formulas lean on a recurring set of hero ingredients — niacinamide, snail mucin, hyaluronic acid, centella asiatica, vitamin C, D-panthenol, peptides and ceramides — with some products using high concentrations, such as snail mucin in the 88–95% range and multi-peptide complexes.

Among its better-known products are the All Day Vitamin Brightening & Balancing Facial Serum, the Snail Mucin 95 + Peptide Essence, the Waterfull Hyaluronic Acid Toner and the Snail Mucin + Centella Cream. The brand describes its hyaluronic acid products as using the ingredient in seven molecular weights, and presents its formulas as clinically tested. The Niacinamide 20% Serum, marketed for fading dark spots, drew notable attention on TikTok, where it circulated widely under the #jumiso hashtag in 2025 [15].

On ethics, an independent audit reports that Jumiso does not test finished products or ingredients on animals, that its suppliers and third parties do not either, and that it is not sold in mainland China; the same review notes the brand is not formally certified by organizations such as PETA or Leaping Bunny [9]. The brand is not fully vegan — some products may contain animal-derived ingredients — though it states that certain products are certified vegan by the European Vegetarian Union. Its products are manufactured in South Korea.

Recognition

Jumiso has not been the subject of major Western beauty-press coverage, but it has appeared in niche K-beauty editorial. Project Vanity reviewed three of its products, calling Jumiso "a promising brand to try" after two of the three performed well in testing [13]. The UK site Ellen Noir ran a feature comparing the brand's skincare lines [14].

Distribution

Jumiso reaches customers through several channels. In South Korea its products are stocked at Artbox stores, and in Europe they are carried by retailers such as Haru Haru Beauty, which has locations in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The brand also sells directly to consumers through its website and, in the United States, through a TikTok Shop. Its US-facing operations run on the jumiso.us site, which functions as the brand's American direct-to-consumer arm rather than a separate company [1].

Current status

Jumiso is active. As of 2025 it maintained a US TikTok Shop with recent creator content, an Instagram account (@jumiso_global) posting through 2024 and 2025 with about 124,000 followers, and regional distribution spanning Korea, the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia [10]. The continued circulation of its niacinamide serum on social platforms points to ongoing visibility.
