Summary

Overview

Laurent Mazzone Parfums, which trades commercially as LM Parfums, is a French niche fragrance house founded by Laurent Mazzone and based in Grenoble. It specialises in concentrated eaux de parfum and perfume extracts built around materials such as oud, musk, rose and incense, and it describes itself simply as a "parfumeur de niche". The house remains active: its e-commerce site continues to sell directly, it presented new work including Dulce Pear Extreme during Paris Perfume Week 2026, and its most recent journal posts are dated to May 2026 [1][2].

The brand's founding date is recorded differently across sources. Its own about page lists a founding year of 2000, which appears to mark Mazzone's earliest boutique fragrances in Grenoble [3]. Third-party editorial coverage instead dates the launch of LM Parfums as a formal perfume house to 2010 [4]. The two figures most likely describe distinct milestones — the first shop-made scents versus the named house — rather than a straightforward disagreement.

Origin & founders

Laurent Mazzone was born into an Italian family and, by the company's account, was drawn to perfume as a child, mixing his mother's bottles from a young age [3]. Before perfumery he worked as a DJ, moving between music, fashion shows and styling, and he later opened a fashion boutique in Grenoble. There he created his first fragrances — among them Noir Gabardine, Ambre Muscadin and Patchouly Bohème — and, according to the brand, customer enthusiasm encouraged him to establish a perfume house of his own [3]. He has said the decisive moment came while looking out over the New York skyline from the Royalton Hotel, thinking he would launch his own line; the same view, the company adds, inspired the design of its bottles.

Mazzone developed the early house alongside the perfumer Olivia Giacobetti. The brand also works with The Robertet Group, a long-established French supplier, for its raw materials [3].

Philosophy & positioning

LM Parfums positions itself as an uncompromising niche house that avoids trend-chasing. Its tagline translates as "fragrances of character, built on exceptional raw materials — no compromise, no trend, just the essentials," and the company states that all its creations share a single requirement: fine materials and accords made to last [1]. Mazzone frames each scent as autobiographical: "Each fragrance is a real story, not a made-up one," he has said, describing his aim as immortalising "a memory, a moment, a passion" [5].

The house leans deliberately toward darker territory. Mazzone characterises perfume as "instinctive, sensual, disturbing, animal," and says he accepts his "dark side" as part of how he reads the world [5]. Third-party retailers echo this framing, with one describing his commitment to "sincerity and authenticity" as what sets the work apart [4].

Products & innovation

The range is organised into collections, including Les Eaux Pures, White Label, Black Label, Extreme, Silver Label, Gold Label, Radikal and Fil D'or, spanning eaux de parfum and more concentrated perfume extracts. Woody, spicy, floral, amber and fruity-musky families recur, and the house extends into home fragrance with scented candles and diffusers.

Its most prominent scent is Dulce Pear, a composition of apple, pear and musk that Mazzone has tied to his Italian origins and called the brand's "very best seller" [5]; it featured in the music video for The Avener's "Quando Quando." A more concentrated Dulce Pear Extreme was among the 2026 releases. Distribution is intentionally narrow: the company says its fragrances reach buyers through "a select network of carefully chosen points of sale in France and internationally," favouring independent perfumeries, concept stores and specialty boutiques over wide retail.

Recognition & press

In 2023 the house released Princesse de Cœur in collaboration with Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, with proceeds benefiting the charity Fight Aids Monaco [6]. Individual fragrances have drawn coverage in the fragrance press and lifestyle media; the brand cites features in Fragrantica around Paris Perfume Week 2026 and in the Italian magazine Diva e Donna, the latter on its Chemise Blanche Extrême [2].

Current status

The house is active. It operates a live direct-sales site, introduced new fragrances in 2026, and continued publishing editorial posts as recently as May 2026 [2]. Its distribution remains selective across France and international markets.
