Summary

Overview

Les Arganiers is an Italian cosmetics brand built around Moroccan argan oil and the rituals of the hammam. It was founded in 2008 by Silvia Soresina, a market researcher and cosmetics specialist, and was based in Melegnano, near Milan [5]. The brand has been dormant for several years: its original direct-to-consumer site is no longer brand-owned, the UK company that distributed its products was dissolved in late 2024, and remaining stock surfaces only on a handful of niche European retailers, frequently listed as out of stock.

The name translates from French as "the argan trees," a reference to the Argania spinosa tree native to southern Morocco, from which the brand's central ingredient is pressed.

Thinner sourcing. The article relies largely on the brand's own statements (T2–T3). Glowpedia is seeking independent sources.

Origin & founders

The brand traces back to a trip Soresina took to Morocco in April 2008, where she encountered argan oil and decided to commercialise it in Italy, where it was not yet widely known [5]. She returned to source other staples of the Moroccan hammam — black soap and rhassoul clay — and assembled them into a cosmetics line aimed at the Italian market.

The brand identity was developed with the graphic agency Velarte and built around three stated values: preciousness, nature, and the charm of Morocco [5]. Its original Italian tagline framed the line as natural anti-ageing care and the "beauty and wellbeing of the Moroccan hammam."

Products & ingredients

Argan oil sits at the centre of the range, which 50-ml.co.uk describes as "high-value cosmetics" with "exceptional properties," positioning everyday use as "a profound experience" rather than a routine. The brand referred to argan oil as the "Gold of the Desert" and attributed to it a long list of properties, from hydrating and nourishing to anti-ageing and protective [5]. Alongside argan, the formulas drew on black soap (Beldi), rhassoul clay, squalene, sweet almond oil, aloe vera and vitamin E.

The catalogue spanned face and body care. Named products include Pure Argan Oil and a Rhassoul Purifying Mask for the face, the Sapone Nero (black soap), and body care such as Body Oil SPF 15 and Body Milk SPF 15. For the latter, the retailer onebioshop describes a sun-care formula containing zinc oxide and intended for sensitive skin, citing xanthophyll from argan oil as a component said to help protect skin from UV rays [3].

Philosophy & positioning

Les Arganiers presented itself at the prestige end of the market, reframing traditional Moroccan beauty practices as a refined Italian cosmetics line. The company's messaging leaned on heritage and the sensory side of the hammam tradition, describing each formula as incorporating "precious and esteemed natural elements." Its only notable press appears to be an Italian editorial profile in Ambiente Europa, which covered the founding story, hero ingredients and the Velarte branding partnership; no major beauty-press coverage, awards or certifications were found.

Current status

The brand is dormant. Its original site, lesarganiers.com, is no longer operated by the brand; the domain has been repurposed and now hosts unrelated content [5]. A separately incorporated UK company, Les Arganiers Limited, handled distribution; it was incorporated in 2017, filed its last accounts for the period ending 30 June 2023, and was dissolved on 10 December 2024 [6]. The relationship between that UK entity and the Italian brand is unclear, and it is not confirmed to be the brand's owner; its registered activity was classified under "other service activities," not cosmetics [6]. Products continued to circulate through niche European resellers, including 50-ml.co.uk, 50-ml.com, papique.com and onebioshop.com, often as out-of-stock listings. No recent product launches or social activity have been recorded.
