Overview
LLOYD is a small German body-care label made up of two herbal products: an alpine-herb emulsion and an alpine-herb balm, each sold in a 200 ml tube. It belongs to Lloyd GmbH, a trading company in the town of Quakenbrück whose registered name is Lloyd Textilvertriebs-GmbH [2]. The products are sold through the company's own web shop and through an online pharmacy, and both were on sale in October 2026.
The label is a minor part of a broader business. Alongside LLOYD, the company's shop carries creams under the BIO-VITAL name, perfumes from Black Onyx and Adelante, room fragrances, a wool detergent called Wollsan, suitcase sets, fans and reel mowers [1]. The name is not connected to the German shoe brand Lloyd.
Ownership
According to its legal notice, the company behind LLOYD is Lloyd Textilvertriebs-GmbH of Lange Straße 78, Quakenbrück, entered in the commercial register of the Osnabrück local court under number HRB 20413 [2]. The business-register service North Data gives the company's registered purpose as the manufacture, purchase and sale of household goods and technical appliances, which places cosmetics on the edge of what the firm was set up to do [10].
The earliest publication North Data lists for the company is a register entry dated 20 June 2006, recording a share capital of 100,000 Deutsche Mark. That entry is a register record, not a founding date. No founding year or founders are documented for either the company or the LLOYD label.
Sources differ on who makes the products. The online pharmacy Shop Apotheke names Axisis GmbH as the manufacturer ("Hersteller") of the LLOYD emulsion, while the retailer's own description of the tube on the same page reads "Hersteller: Lloyd GmbH" [8]. No available source explains what role Axisis plays in the supply chain.
Philosophy & positioning
LLOYD publishes no mission statement, brand history or "about" text. What positioning it has comes from short product descriptions written in German. These frame the line as everyday body care for active people of any age, built around herbal ingredients. The products sit at the budget end of the market. No third-party certifications or clinical claims are documented.
Products & innovation
The better-known of the two products is the Alpenkräuter-Emulsion (alpine-herb emulsion). The company labels it the "Original LLOYD Emulsion" and calls it a great comfort for all active people, young or old, to be used on the whole body after bathing [6]. It is meant for general skin care as well as massage, sports massage and reflex massage, a form of massage focused on pressure points on the feet and hands. The company gives its shelf life as 12 months after opening. Shop Apotheke files it among its massage oils, and its product text adds that the emulsion is "altbewährt und vielbegehrt", meaning long proven and much in demand.
The second product is the Alpenkräuter-Balsam mit Weinlaub und Rosskastanie, an alpine-herb balm with vine leaf and horse chestnut. Lloyd describes it as a product "auf natürlicher Basis" (on a natural basis) that combines alpine herbs with the oil of the Siberian fir. Extracts of red vine leaf and horse chestnut complete the formula, and the company refers to the finished product as a gel [7].
The edges of the range are not sharply drawn. The company's shop sells further alpine-herb items, including a plain Alpenkräuter-Balsam and an alpine-herb cream with cannabis oil and devil's claw. These are labelled LACÚRE rather than LLOYD, so on the owner's own site only the emulsion and the vine-leaf balm carry the LLOYD name [4].
Current status
LLOYD is active. In October 2026 the emulsion was listed as in stock on the company's shop, and Shop Apotheke offered it as available from the pharmacy and one partner retailer. The most recent dated public trace of the brand is a customer review of the emulsion posted on Shop Apotheke on 27 April 2026; all ten reviews on that page gave it five stars [8].
Beyond the pharmacy, the review aggregator testberichte.de summarises 61 Amazon.de customer ratings for the emulsion at an average of 4.4 out of 5, with an overall grade of "good" (1.6 on the German school scale). That figure reflects customer opinion rather than a laboratory test [9]. No press coverage, product launches or social-media accounts are documented, and the brand's activity is centred on Germany.
