Maria Candida Gentile is an Italian niche fragrance house based in Sarzana, in the Liguria region. It is the eponymous Maison of the perfumer of the same name, who composes every fragrance in the collection herself and presents the house as a natural perfumery set apart from mainstream commercial scent. The brand remains independent and active, run from a House-Atelier in Sarzana with a live online shop and an associated perfumery school.

The house grows directly out of the biography of its founder. Maria Candida Gentile was born in Sarzana, Liguria, and grew up in an old garden overlooking the city walls, where, by her own account, she conducted her "earliest fragrant experiments" as a child beneath a magnolia tree. She later lived in the Valle d'Aosta among people with deep plant knowledge, an experience she credits with shaping an "understanding, shaped by observation, respect, and silence."

She studied perfume composition in Grasse, the historic centre of French perfumery, and according to the house's own biography was "the very first woman and Italian to be accepted into the Grasse Institute of Perfumery." The house frames bespoke work as "interpreting the soul of a place, rather than forming a brand or the identity of a person." It is still run by its founding perfumer from the House-Atelier in Sarzana, with a functioning online shop, current shipping terms and an operating perfumery school taking applications.
