Overview
Masca Parfums is an Italian niche fragrance house founded in 2024 by the Neapolitan perfumer and entrepreneur Massimo Scalella. The brand name is an acronym formed from parts of its founder's first and last names [2]. It sells eau de parfum directly to consumers through its own website, and remains a small, early-stage operation: as of mid-2026 its Instagram presence numbered only a few dozen followers and posts.
The house made its public debut in 2025, when it presented a collection of six fragrances at ESXENCE, the artistic-perfumery exhibition held in Milan [2].

Origin & founders
Masca Parfums was created by Massimo Scalella, who has worked in perfumery since 1985. According to a Fragrantica feature, he began in the sales department of Fendi before co-founding the Italian perfume company Mansfield, which manages six perfume brands [2]. He launched Masca Parfums in 2024 as a separate venture [2].
The name's resemblance to other niche labels is coincidental; Fragrantica notes that "Masca" is simply the contraction of Massimo Scalella's own name [2].
Products & innovation
The debut collection comprises six eau de parfum compositions, each assigned to an outside perfumer rather than developed in-house. About You..., a floral-musk built on pear, blackcurrant leaf and sandalwood, and the spicy woodsy-fougère Canone Inverso were both composed by Luca Maffei. Supreme Blend, a violet-leaf and sandalwood scent, was created by Sébastien Cresp. Lorenzo Berti contributed the caramel-amber Perfect Crime and the earthy, beetroot-led Dark Room, while Paolo Cerizza developed the aquatic Aroma Profundo.
The fragrances are sold in eau de parfum concentration, in 100 ml bottles, through the brand's official website [2].
Philosophy & positioning
Masca Parfums describes its work as "profumeria d'Autore" — signature, or author-led, perfumery. In its own words, the company commits to offering creative and original perfumery in which every raw material is the protagonist, "worked and shaped by perfumer artists in an absolutely free manner," blending craftsmanship with modern technology [1]. The house uses the tagline "profumi d'autore" ("author perfumes").
In its 2025 feature, Fragrantica placed the brand in a commercial context, observing that this Italian house had adopted a playbook long associated with Gulf fragrance brands: "same same but better" hit formulas built by hired-in famous perfumers, AI-generated imagery and product copy, and elaborate packaging — offered, the reviewer added, at prices set well above comparable Dubai labels [2].
Recognition & press
The brand's principal press coverage to date is the Fragrantica article "Getting to Know the Italian Brand Masca Parfums," written by Sergey Borisov in 2025, which reviewed the six-fragrance debut shown at ESXENCE [2]. No mainstream beauty-press coverage or encyclopedic entry was identified, consistent with a label launched in 2024.
Current status
Masca Parfums is an active but very young house. Its most recent visible activity is the 2025 debut collection presented at ESXENCE in Milan, with its newest fragrance editions also dated 2025 [2]. Distribution is direct-to-consumer through the brand's own website, and its reach remains concentrated in Italy.
