Overview
medosan is a Swiss product line spanning cosmetics, personal care, food supplements and CE-marked medical devices. It belongs to Swiss Beauty AG, a company with its registered seat in Herisau, Switzerland, which holds medosan as a registered trademark [5]. Swiss Beauty calls medosan its best-known brand and says the name stands for the quality and safety of its products [3]. According to the owner, the range is developed in Switzerland and the larger part of it is also made there [1].
The brand is oriented toward health and everyday care. It reaches customers through specialist and mail-order retail, telephone marketing and teleshopping, and its beauty products sit alongside foot treatments, joint and muscle care and dietary supplements. Its face and body care draws on ingredients such as immortelle, apricot oil, colostrum and argan oil.
Origin
When medosan began is not documented. No founder is named in any public source, and neither the brand nor its owner gives a founding date for the label itself. The earliest dated trace of the name is a Swiss trademark registration for MEDOSAN of 26 November 1990, which later served as the basis for an international registration of the mark [12]. That filing records the protection of a name, not the launch of a brand, and it does not show who held the mark at the time.
Statements about the age of the business behind medosan also point in different directions. Swiss Beauty's company portrait says the firm has been a partner for cosmetics, nutritional supplements and CE-marked medical products "for more than 23 years", but the page itself carries no date [3]. The website of MedoVital, the German company that now handles the brand in Germany, carries a 2022 copyright notice and says the company's roots were laid in Switzerland almost 30 years earlier [10]. Neither statement can be turned into a founding year for medosan, so this article gives none.
Ownership
medosan is owned by Swiss Beauty AG. The company's legal notice describes the name as a registered trademark of Swiss Beauty AG under two international registrations and names the Zurich law firm Wild Schnyder AG as its trademark representative. Swiss Beauty gives Walke 43 in Herisau as its headquarters and also lists an office and contact address in Abtwil. Its contact page names Guido Baumgärtner as managing director, alongside staff responsible for sales and purchasing, key accounts and special projects.
The main documented corporate change came in 2015, when Swiss Beauty integrated MedoVital Handels GmbH, a company based in Ludwigshafen, Germany, into Swiss Beauty AG [3]. The owner says the move made it stronger internationally. MedoVital is now listed as the medosan representative for Germany and the wider European Union, and the domain medosan.de leads to its website [4].
Swiss Beauty describes itself as an experienced supplier both to the international direct-marketing industry and to bricks-and-mortar retail. For direct-marketing clients, the company says, it provides not only products that meet the relevant regulations but also, on request, marketing material such as images. Besides its own range, it also assembles product lines to customers' specifications, work it describes as private label in the premium-product segment [1].
Philosophy and positioning
Swiss Beauty's homepage opens with the statement that the company places human well-being at the centre of everything it does. It presents medosan as the outcome of its expertise in developing certified medical devices, food supplements and cosmetics, and it frames the whole offer under the words health, beauty and body care. On the German-language medosan site, run by MedoVital, the brand carries the tagline "Einfach gesünder Leben", which translates roughly as "simply living healthier".
The owner sets out its product promise under three headings: quality and nature, innovation, and safety. Under the first, it says it uses raw materials from selected growing regions and chooses its production sites by the same standards it applies to the products. With few exceptions, the company states, its health products are made exclusively from natural raw materials [6]. Under innovation, it says new active ingredients and products are developed by specialists in modern research laboratories and go through extensive series of tests. Under safety, Swiss Beauty states that medosan products comply with the relevant EU and Swiss legal standards for both content and packaging. Beyond the CE marking of its medical devices, no third-party certifications for the range are documented, and no sustainability commitments are documented.
The commercial goal is stated in plain terms. Swiss Beauty says it aims to supply its customers continuously with new products and to let them benefit from the best value for money [2]. That emphasis on value, together with sales through teleshopping, telephone marketing and mail order, shapes how the brand is presented: as everyday care and wellness products.
Distribution is international but runs largely through partners. According to the company, it works with distribution partners in various countries on four continents, and the products are kept in stock for delivery. The brand's international page lists representatives for the European Union and Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Croatia, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Hungary, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand [4].
Products
Beauty is only one part of the medosan catalogue. Swiss Beauty divides the range into foot and leg care, hair care, weight control, food supplements, muscles and joints, and body and facial care. The company says the products shown online are only a small selection of a much larger assortment.
In face and body care, the lead product is the Immortelle Active Lift Crème, a day cream that the company says contains a mix of natural active ingredients, led by immortelle, which it describes as a "regeneration wonder". The ApricotGold Bio-Lift Gel is built around apricot oil, and the brand promotes it as anti-wrinkle care for impatient users. The Perfect Eye eyelid spray is intended for dry and irritated eyelids. Other ingredients the company highlights across its care products include colostrum, argan oil, CBD and thuja.
The foot and leg range reflects the brand's overlap with medical care. One example is Nail-Fix, which medosan presents as immediate help for ingrown toenails. Elsewhere in the catalogue, Swiss Beauty also sells certified medical devices under the medosan name, in addition to cosmetics and supplements.
The product with the most documented coverage outside the brand's own channels is the Weihrauch-Balsam, a frankincense massage balm sold both as a single 100 ml pack and as a two-pack.
Recognition
No awards are documented for medosan. Its most visible independent coverage comes from topratgeber24.de, a German affiliate product-comparison website. In the site's comparison of frankincense ointments and creams, updated in November 2025, the two-pack of the medosan Weihrauch-Balsam massage balm received an overall score of 1.2, rated "Sehr gut" (very good), and was named the comparison winner among 15 products [11]. The single 100 ml version of the same balm was rated 1.6, or "Gut" (good). The site also recorded 892 Amazon customer reviews for that product, with an average of 4.2 out of 5, and listed it with several German online retailers, among them Amazon, OTTO and the mail-order pharmacy Volksversand.
Current status
medosan is active. Swiss Beauty continues to present the range on its website together with its international network of distribution partners, and the frankincense balms were listed with current retailer offers in the November 2025 comparison [11]. The company's own website carries no dated news, so most visible signs of activity come from its partners and from retail listings rather than from the brand itself.
