Overview
Meo Fusciuni is an Italian artistic perfume house founded in 2010 by the perfumer Giuseppe Imprezzabile, who works under the Meo Fusciuni name [3]. The project is based in a single atelier in the historic centre of Sarzana, in the Liguria region, where Imprezzabile composes the fragrances and Federica Castellani directs the brand's artistic vision. It belongs to the world of niche, or "artistic", perfumery, and the company frames its scents less as products than as chapters of a personal narrative.
The house remains active. Its most recent release, Isola, appeared in 2025 and was a finalist at the Accademia del Profumo awards that year [7]. Imprezzabile, trained as a biochemist and ethnobotanist, has been described by the niche retailer Luckyscent as "a rising young star in Italian perfumery" [5].

Origin and founders
Meo Fusciuni is the working name of Giuseppe Imprezzabile, a Sicilian perfumer born in Mazara del Vallo [6]. Before turning to scent he trained in chemistry and ethnobotany and ran an herbalist's shop in northern Italy, cataloguing the properties of plants and their extracts [5]. According to the fragrance database Parfinity, his fragrances began as a hobby and "began receiving acclaim" before he moved into perfumery professionally.
The pseudonym is drawn from his own family. Parfinity records that "Meo" is a diminutive of his father's name, Bartolomeo, while "Fusciuni" was his grandfather's nickname, meaning "to flow" in Sicilian [6]. Imprezzabile describes himself simply as "a man who writes perfumes", treating each fragrance as a page of a diary.
The house dates its founding to 2010, the year stated on the brand's own site and repeated by Parfinity [3][6]. Some fragrance databases give 2011 [9]; this is the year the first scents, the Nota di Viaggio series, were released rather than a competing founding date.
Philosophy and positioning
The company presents Meo Fusciuni not only as a perfume label but as what it calls "an existential project, an intimate diary told through smell" [3]. Its stated approach places the meaning of a fragrance ahead of its construction: the founder says he builds his work around the "why" of a perfume rather than the "how", at what he describes as the meeting point of science and spirituality. Recurring themes across the brand's writing are travel, poetry, memory and inner research.
Raw materials, the company says, are chosen by an "almost ascetic" standard — prized natural and synthetic ingredients sourced internationally — and the formulas are developed slowly, "after years of reflection, writing and travel". The atelier interior in Sarzana is described as post-modern with Japanese influences. The brand's tagline is "Emozioni in odore" (emotions in scent).
Products
Meo Fusciuni's fragrances are organised into collections, including Memorie di Viaggio (Travel Memories) and the Autoritratti (Self-Portraits) series, split into luminous and dark sets. Among the works most often cited are Narcotico, Viole Nere, Encore du Temps and Varanasi, alongside the travel-inspired Nota di Viaggio line such as Ciavuru d'Amuri. Scents are offered as parfum and eau de parfum, with travel sizes and room sprays.
The 2025 release Isola marked a shift in direction. The perfumer called it "my turn toward light", describing it as built on fresh notes and "absence of darkness" [7]. The editorial site CaFleureBon, reviewing the fragrance, linked it to his August 2023 return to Mazara del Vallo in Sicily and characterised his method as "world building" rather than simple storytelling [7].
Recognition
The house has drawn attention within niche perfumery. Isola was a finalist at the Accademia del Profumo in 2025, and CaFleureBon notes that the brand has also appeared on critics' "Best of" lists [7]. Luckyscent's perfumer directory describes Imprezzabile as bringing "an outsiders' sense of creativity and artistic independence to the world of scent" [5].
Current status
Meo Fusciuni is active. Production remains centred on the single Sarzana atelier run by Imprezzabile and Castellani, while the fragrances are distributed internationally through niche retailers, giving the brand a multi-region reach despite its small scale. The most recent documented activity is the 2025 launch of Isola and the brand's finalist placing at the Accademia del Profumo that year.
