Overview
Milkuderm is a small German skin-care line made up of two creams, a rich Fettcreme and a lighter Tagescreme (day cream). It is not a stand-alone company: the line belongs to DESITIN Arzneimittel GmbH, a family-owned pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Hamburg, and it sits in that company's product catalogue alongside its prescription medicines [4]. The creams are sold through pharmacies, and the company presents them as care for dry, sensitive and stressed skin.
What makes Milkuderm unusual is its setting. DESITIN is known chiefly for drugs used in epilepsy, Parkinson's disease and rare conditions, so the two creams are one of the few cosmetic-style products in a largely neurological portfolio. No launch year for the Milkuderm line itself is documented; the dates often attached to DESITIN describe the parent company, not the creams.
Ownership
Milkuderm is owned and marketed by DESITIN Arzneimittel GmbH, whose name and copyright appear on the line's product page [4]. German online pharmacies list the creams under the brand name Milkuderm and give DESITIN, with its address in Hamburg, as the supplier and manufacturer [7][9]. No sale, acquisition or change of ownership of the line is documented.
The parent company has a long history of its own. According to DESITIN, it grew out of two businesses: Carl Klinke GmbH, founded in Hamburg in 1919, and DESITIN, founded in Berlin in 1922, which came together as DESITIN-Werk Carl Klinke GmbH [2]. Its first medicine was DESITIN Salbe, an ointment the company says is still available today. In the mid-1920s DESITIN moved its headquarters to Hamburg.
A turning point came in the post-war years. The chemist Günther Endres joined the business as a partner in 1946 and, in the 1950s, began developing medicines for the central nervous system. Those drugs remain the core of the company's work, and DESITIN says it now has more than 60 years of experience supplying medicines for epilepsy.
Today DESITIN describes itself as an independent, medium-sized family company with close to 400 employees, most of them in Hamburg [2]. Since the 1990s its presence has spread from Germany to a number of other European countries. The company's stated specialisms are neurological and psychiatric disorders and rare diseases; skin care is a side line rather than a focus.
Philosophy & positioning
Milkuderm is positioned as everyday pharmacy skin care rather than as a beauty brand with its own identity. It has no website of its own; the creams are presented on DESITIN's site, where the patient-facing pages group them with the company's wound-healing and skin-care information next to DESITIN Salbe.
The manufacturer frames the two products as a pair with distinct jobs. The Fettcreme is the richer of the two and, in the company's words, is especially suited to caring for dry, sensitive and stressed skin, which makes it valuable above all as a night cream [4]. The Tagescreme is described as a moisturiser whose formula is tuned to demanding and sensitive skin.
On its skin-health pages, DESITIN goes slightly further. It says the day cream was developed in line with dermatological findings and suits every skin type, but particularly skin that is sensitive or in need of extra care [5]. The same page recommends the Fettcreme for skin that tends towards inflammation, irritation and itching. These are the company's own descriptions; no independent testing of the creams is documented.
Products & innovation
The range consists of two products, both sold in 50 g packs [7][8]:
- milkuderm Fettcreme – a rich cream for dry, sensitive and stressed skin, which the company recommends mainly for night-time use. - milkuderm Tagescreme – a day moisturiser that, according to DESITIN, absorbs straight away and leaves the skin looking supple and cared for without a greasy feel.
Pharmacy listings file both under body creams and balms. DESITIN's product page does not set out an ingredient list, and no signature ingredient, patented technology or clinical study is documented for either product. Likewise, no certifications, awards or press coverage of the line are documented.
The products are written with a lower-case "m" and a registered-trademark sign on the manufacturer's site ("milkuderm®"), while pharmacy retailers generally use "Milkuderm" or "MILKUDERM".
Current status
Milkuderm is active. As of 2026 the line remains listed in DESITIN's product catalogue, and its product page carries a 2026 copyright date [3][4]. The same page notes that the package leaflet for both creams is currently being revised.
Availability of the two products appears uneven. In October 2026 a German online pharmacy listed the Fettcreme as in stock while showing the Tagescreme as not available [8]. Whether this reflects a temporary supply gap or a longer-term change to the range has not been publicly stated by the company.
