Summary

Overview

Miss Kay is an Italian fragrance brand launched in 2018 as part of the Alma K group, founded by beauty entrepreneur Amy Kafri [1][2]. It sells eau de parfum in compact 25-millilitre bottles, built around the idea that a person might own many scents to suit different moods rather than wearing a single signature perfume. The line is made in Italy and positioned at an accessible price point, with the brand reporting presence across European and Asian markets [3].

By 2026 the company described itself as present in 60 markets through more than 40,000 points of sale, including retailers such as Walmart and Douglas, with scents priced roughly between 7 and 10 euros [10]. Trade press has grouped it among fragrance brands aimed at Generation Z and the trend of building a "wardrobe" of affordable perfumes.

Origin and founders

Miss Kay was created by Amy Kafri, who had earlier founded the Dead Sea minerals skincare brand Alma K in 2010 [11]. According to the brand's account, Kafri conceived the perfume line out of personal frustration: as a frequent traveller, she found fragrances came either in bulky bottles or as low-quality budget scents, and wanted "great quality, affordable fragrances that she could easily take with her – on the plane, in her purse or hand trolley, anywhere and everywhere" [2]. She also wanted perfumes that could reflect changing moods rather than committing the wearer to one daily scent.

The brand's country of origin is presented consistently as Italian; trade outlet WWD refers to it plainly as "the Italian brand," and its products are made in Italy [10]. Its parent group, Alma K, has a more layered geography: the company describes itself as based in both Florence, Italy and Tel Aviv, Israel, and Kafri is described as having been born in Italy and raised in Italy, Israel and the United States [11]. The Israeli connection runs through the parent group's dual base and the founder's background rather than through Miss Kay's own stated origin.

Ownership

Miss Kay sits within the Alma K group, which the company identifies as its parent [1]. Alma K, the original brand, predates the fragrance line by several years and focuses on skincare made with minerals, mud and salts from the Dead Sea; Miss Kay was added in 2018 as a fragrance sister brand. No acquisitions are recorded for either brand.

Philosophy and positioning

The brand frames fragrance as a form of self-expression, summarised in messaging such as "perfume is a powerful way to let the world know your vibe" and the tagline "Every person is different, every vibe is unique." Rather than promoting one hero scent, it encourages customers to assemble a collection matched to different occasions and emotional states, and states a mission to "empower thousands of young individuals to find their vibes through fragrances."

To support that mood-based approach, each scent is paired with a visual "moodboard" — a collage of colours and images meant to convey the character of the fragrance before it is sprayed. The company offers an online "Vibe Quiz" to help customers choose among its scents.

Products and innovation

Miss Kay's core product is eau de parfum sold in compact, brightly coloured 25-millilitre bottles, a format the brand presents as travel-friendly. The range spans more than twenty scents organised into families such as Floral & Free, Zesty & Rich, Fruity & Sweet, Clean & Fresh, Warm & Sweet and a Unisex group, with playful names including Flirt Mode, Kiss My Ex, Guilty Pleasure, Holy Chic and Boyfriend Tee. The line has also included a licensed sub-collection tied to the Winx Club franchise. Alongside fragrances, the brand lists kits and accessories.

The company says its eau de parfum is formulated in Italy by expert perfumers using high concentrations of fragrance oil, and that it adds new scents each year. On ethics, Miss Kay states that all its products are 100 percent vegan, cruelty-free and free of parabens [4].

Distribution initially ran through local resellers across Europe and Asia; the brand began selling directly through its own website in 2023 [1].

Miss Kay received a PB Awards Gold in 2022. In March 2024 the trade publication Cosmetics Business profiled its eau de parfum range, noting its 20-plus scents, moodboard concept and Italian manufacturing. In April 2026 WWD named it among "Five Beauty Brands Targeting Gen Z Shoppers" seen at Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna [10].
