Overview
Miss Magic is a Bulgarian cosmetics brand best known for permanent home hair colour, with a smaller range of face and body care. It was created in 1998 in the laboratories of Solvex Cosmetic Products Ltd., a Plovdiv cosmetics manufacturer, and remains one of that company's principal house brands [1]. The brand is positioned at the affordable, drugstore end of the market and is sold through both retail shops and professional hairdressing salons across Central and Eastern Europe and a number of export markets.
The brand is active. Its parent company continues to develop new Miss Magic variants and exhibited at the Cosmoprof trade fair as recently as 2024 [3].

Origin and ownership
Miss Magic belongs to Solvex Cosmetic Products Ltd., founded in 1995 in Plovdiv by what the company describes as a team of experienced professionals from the cosmetics industry [4]. Solvex entered the market that year with a hair-colour line called Magic Woman; Miss Magic followed three years later, in 1998, extending the firm's hair-colour work into face and body products for what the company calls consumers with a traditional attitude to cosmetics [1]. The two lines are distinct: Magic Woman was the company's first product, while Miss Magic became its later, broader brand.
Sources differ on where the company is based, because the answer has two parts. Solvex was founded and registered in Plovdiv, at 2 Darvin Street, and several business directories still list the city as its location [4]. Production has since moved to 50 Trakia Boulevard in Krichim, a town roughly fifteen kilometres south-west of Plovdiv, which other listings give as the company's address [5]. Both remain associated with the firm — Plovdiv as the historical and registered office, Krichim as the manufacturing base.
Alongside Miss Magic, Solvex develops several sister brands, including Miss Solvex, Elea and MM Beauty.
History and recognition
In the years after its 1998 launch, Miss Magic won early recognition at home: the brand received a Gold Medal at the International Fair in Plovdiv in 1999, and a second Gold Medal at the same fair the following year [6]. Solvex has since shown the brand regularly on the international trade circuit, including appearances at Cosmoprof and at Beautyworld Middle East in Dubai.
Products and ingredients
Miss Magic is built around permanent hair colour, sold in several lines. The standard Miss Magic range is described by the company as giving even, saturated colour and full grey coverage, with a formula containing nettle extract and vitamins. Miss Magic Creative, a permanent colour cream, is presented as developed together with professional hairdressers and formulated with olive oil to protect the hair and scalp during dyeing. The Luxe Colors line, including an ammonia-free version, is built on a blend of argan, avocado and almond oils intended to help colour pigment penetrate the hair, with nettle extract, vitamin F and keratin to support volume and condition [7]. A further line, Miss Magic Trend Color, is also enriched with vitamin F and nettle extract.
The brand sits in the budget tier. One UK reseller lists Miss Magic Luxe Colors at around £6.89, describing it as an affordable, mass-market hair dye [8]. The products are made in Bulgaria [7].
Science and manufacturing
Solvex carries out clinical and dermatological testing for its products at University Hospital St. George in Plovdiv before launch, and works on formulation with a number of European laboratories and suppliers, among them Cederm and Mane in France, Pentapharm in Switzerland, and Symrise in Germany [9]. The company states that its manufacturing is certified to GMP ISO 22716, the international good-manufacturing-practice standard for cosmetics [10].
Distribution and reach
Miss Magic reaches consumers through both ordinary retail channels and professional salons, and is exported well beyond Bulgaria. Figures for that reach vary by source and over time. A business directory profile describes Solvex as present in more than 40 countries [2], a figure tied to roughly the company's first two decades; the company's own current account puts its brands in more than 60 foreign markets [4]. The brand's recent distribution includes Nordic and Middle Eastern retailers as well as its established base in Central and Eastern Europe.
Current status
Miss Magic is an active brand. Its parent, Solvex Cosmetic Products Ltd., operates from Krichim and Plovdiv and continues to produce and export the line. Multiple Miss Magic sub-ranges — Luxe Colors, the ammonia-free Luxe Colors, Trend Color and Creative — remain in distribution, and Solvex exhibited the brand at Cosmoprof in 2024 [3]. There is no public record of the brand being discontinued, sold or left dormant.
