Summary

Overview

Mokosh is a Polish natural-cosmetics company founded in April 2014 by Anna Didiuk and Anna Rutkowska-Didiuk, two sisters-in-law referred to together as "Ania i Ania" [9]. Based near Warsaw, it formulates skincare, body and hair products around cold-pressed oils, botanical extracts and natural waxes, and develops and manufactures them in its own laboratory and production facility. The brand takes its name from Mokosz, a goddess of earth, moisture and fertility in Slavic mythology who, in old belief, watched over crops and women.

The company remains active and continues to launch products and collect industry awards: as of 2025 its homepage listed a raspberry line and a new bust-and-décolletage serum, and the brand recorded wins at the Glammies and Influencers Choice awards that year. It is owned by MOKOSH Didiuk sp.k. and sells directly in Poland while reaching a wider European and international market through distributors.

Origin and founders

Mokosh was created by two women who share the same first name. Co-founder Ania Didiuk began working in cosmetics as a teenager, helping her mother run a beauty clinic in Kraków. After studying cosmetology and managing several spa facilities in southern Poland, she found that no available products met her standards; that gap, she has said, prompted her and her sister-in-law Ania Rutkowska-Didiuk to start the company [11]. They established Mokosh in April 2014.

Ownership

The brand is operated by MOKOSH Didiuk sp.k., a partnership registered to the founders [10]. There is some divergence over where the company is principally based. Its About page gives the headquarters as Laski, on ul. Trenów 53 near Warsaw [5], while the company's LinkedIn profile lists Kazuń Nowy as its primary location with Laski as an additional site [10]; both lie within the Mazovian region around Warsaw.

A related brand, MOKANN, serves the United Kingdom market. According to MOKANN, it is an official brand created by the same Polish owners, carrying identical products with the same packaging — the name combines "MOKOSH" with the "Anna" shared by both founders [9].

Philosophy and positioning

Mokosh positions itself as effective at-home skincare that draws, in the company's phrasing, on "the power of nature, the effectiveness of science." It frames its work around three pillars it calls effectiveness, sustainability and clean beauty, and describes its compositions as minimalist, using natural and safe ingredients without unnecessary additives. The company says quality skincare needs only about fifteen minutes of daily ritual, and addresses its products to "modern, active women who want more — effectiveness, quality, and a moment for themselves."

A recurring theme is what the brand labels "100%" products: base items such as oils, hydrolates and essential oils that it says it sells undiluted and without preservatives or fillers, packaged in pharmaceutical-grade dark glass. In an early interview, Didiuk said Mokosh was the first company in Poland to offer argan and jojoba oils certified for use on newborns from the first day of life [11].

Products and innovation

The range spans face, body and hair care, alongside fragrances and accessories. The brand draws on hero ingredients including argan and jojoba oils, other cold-pressed oils, botanical extracts, hydrolates and natural waxes. Among its named products are the Rich Face Cream (a night cream for dry skin), the Mirratum fragrance, and a bust-and-décolletage serum.

Mokosh develops and produces in-house. The company says it runs its own R&D centre and GMP-certified production line — equipped with vacuum homogenisers, an automated filling and labelling line, and a range of skin-measurement instruments for hydration, elasticity and wrinkle analysis — and that its formulas are verified through internal and independent laboratory testing under dermatological supervision. It states that its cosmetics contain at least 95% ingredients of natural origin. The company also reports an ongoing research collaboration with the Medical University of Łódź focused on anti-ageing work [6].

Sustainability

The company reports that its headquarters and production have run on renewable energy — solar, wind and hydroelectric — since June 2021, and that it has eliminated single-use plastic water bottles on site through its own water filtration [9]. It offers returnable packaging in Poland, uses recycled materials for promotional items, and runs a non-commercial environmental-education project it calls #EarthIsHome.

Recognition

Mokosh's products have been entered in and recognised by several beauty-award programmes. Its Rich Face Cream was named Best Night Cream For Dry Skin at the Beauty Shortlist Awards in 2023, after an earlier Best Night Cream recognition at the Nature and Health Natural Beauty Awards in 2019 [12]. In 2025 the Mirratum fragrance featured in the Love Cosmetics Awards [13], and the brand listed wins at the Influencers Choice and Glammies awards the same year. These awards are reported by the brand and the awarding programmes rather than verified against independent archives.

Current status

Mokosh is active. The company continued to launch products and win awards through 2025, and reports distribution across 34 countries — supplying beauty salons, concept stores, hotels and spa facilities in Poland and reaching other markets through distributors [10]. One such partner, the Lithuanian distributor Nanoprodukcija MB, operates the mokosh.lt store for the Baltic region [1]; because of this arrangement, some sources describe Mokosh as a Lithuanian natural-cosmetics brand, though the company and its founders are Polish [5].
