Overview
myRapunzel is a German hair-care brand based in Mannheim that sells natural, plant-based shampoos, conditioners and styling products directly to consumers. It was founded by Fjolla Myftari, who also runs the company as its managing director [8]. The brand dates its start to the end of 2016 [5], while the legal entity behind it, originally myRapunzel Organics UG, was first registered in November 2017 [6].
The company centres everything on a single idea it repeats across its site: that healthy hair comes from nature rather than synthetic chemistry. Products are described as "100% natural and made in Germany," and the brand markets itself under the tagline "Märchenhaft schönes Haar" (fairy-tale beautiful hair) [1]. The business remains active, operating a German-language webshop with an expanding range that now includes a children's line.

Origin & founders
myRapunzel grew out of a personal problem. According to a founder interview with the Mannheim startup hub gig7, Fjolla Myftari developed severe scalp inflammation and significant hair loss that she attributed to chemicals in conventional hair-care products. After struggling to find pure alternatives she trusted, she decided to make her own [5]. The brand's own account frames this the same way, summarising its conviction that "the key to healthy hair is found in nature."
Myftari describes a hands-on development process: she researches the ingredients she wants, makes prototypes, tests them internally with friends, and folds in customer feedback before a product goes into production. At the time of the gig7 interview the company was small, with five employees and six products, working out of office and warehouse space in the gig7 hub.
History & milestones
The brand's founding year carries a minor discrepancy between sources. The gig7 founder interview gives the start as "end of 2016" [5]. Company-registry records, however, show the original entity, myRapunzel Organics UG, formally registered on 2 November 2017, with Fjolla Myftari as managing director [6]. The brand appears to have launched in late 2016 and incorporated the following year; the "Organics" in the early entity name also matches its original social-media handle.
The company later converted from a UG to a GmbH, recorded by March 2019 with share capital of 25,000 euros. It is registered at the District Court of Mannheim under HRB 728908, and its stated business purpose is the conception, development, manufacture and sale of natural cosmetic and hair-care products.
Philosophy & positioning
myRapunzel positions itself as a clean, natural hair-care brand and stresses transparency about what goes into its formulas. The company says it has prioritised the quality of its raw materials "since day one." It also takes an unusual public stance on marketing: in the gig7 interview, Myftari said the brand chooses influencers who genuinely use natural products, so that recommendations reflect real preference rather than paid promotion [5].
As a direct-to-consumer operation, the brand sells through its own German webshop and ships within Germany; its products also reach Nordic shoppers through retailers listed on Glowjakt.
Products & innovation
The range is organised by hair need, with collections for oily hair, dry hair and stressed scalp, alongside styling products, ready-made routines, accessories and a myRapunzel Kids line. Featured items include a Volume Boost shampoo bar, a Tiefenpflege (deep-care) mask and a leave-in conditioner. The site also offers a "Set Creator" for building custom bundles and a rewards loyalty programme.
Published ingredient lists show the natural positioning in practice. The INCI for one of its shampoos features plant extracts including stinging nettle (Urtica dioica), chamomile (Chamomilla recutita) and calendula (marigold), with hydrolysed wheat protein for moisture and combability [7]. In the founder interview, Myftari named argan oil as a favourite shampoo ingredient [5].
Sustainability
myRapunzel makes several formulation and ethics claims, most of them set out in its FAQ. The company says all its products are cruelty-free and that it rejects silicones, parabens and sulfates, calling sulfates "a very aggressive surfactant." Its products are described as partially vegan rather than fully vegan. The brand states that its manufacturing partner is Ecocert-certified and subject to regular EU oversight, and that main production takes place in Austria and Germany [4].
Current status
The brand is active. Its webshop is live and actively merchandised, with an expanded product range, the Set Creator and rewards features, and a children's line; the site cites a figure of more than 211,000 satisfied customers [1]. The company, myRapunzel GmbH, remains based in Mannheim, and its primary market is Germany and the wider German-speaking region, with distribution extending into the Nordic market.
