Overview
Nectar Olfactif is a French niche perfume house based in Dreux, in the Eure-et-Loir department northwest of Paris. It was founded by David Perrin, a perfume collector and traveller who had previously worked in fragrance manufacturing and packaging for other niche brands [9]. The house builds its identity around the world of bees: the foraging insects that carry nectar back to the hive are likened to the raw materials a perfumer brings together in a single composition.
The brand sells its own line of Extraits de Parfum, the most concentrated form of fragrance, and trades through a legal entity registered as Fragrance Collection at the same Dreux address [4]. Its debut fragrances are dated to 2024 by the fragrance database Fragrantica [13]; the company's own site does not state an explicit founding year.

Origin & founders
According to the company, the house grew out of David Perrin's fascination with bees and their social organisation. Nectar Olfactif frames the hive as a metaphor for perfumery itself, with foragers returning nectar to the colony much as individual ingredients are assembled into a scent. Perrin is described as a collector with a background in the trade, having worked on the production and packaging of fragrances for other niche labels before starting his own [9].
The brand's design carries the theme through to the bottle: a cubic flacon with a honey-coloured interior lacquer and a medallion bearing a gold-screened bee. The company says the motif was inspired by the story of a bee preserved in amber and recovered in Myanmar, which it describes as roughly 100 million years old and among the oldest bee fossils yet found.
Ownership
Nectar Olfactif operates under Fragrance Collection, the registered company behind the brand, based at 8 rue des Champs Corneille in Dreux [4]. David Perrin is named as the publication director of the brand's website.
Philosophy & positioning
The house positions itself as an artisanal niche perfumer working with natural raw materials. Its tagline is "Le voyage parfumé" — the fragrant journey — and each scent is conceived as an olfactory trip to a particular place and culture, among them Egypt, Bali and Mexico. The company emphasises the quality of its ingredients and the longevity of its extraits.
Production is handled in-house. After the fragrances are developed from concentrates supplied by Maison Robertet, Perrin makes the perfume extracts himself within what the brand calls a family artisanal enterprise in France, overseeing maceration, chilling, filtration and bottling.
Products & innovation
The collection comprises six fragrances, all sold as 100 ml extraits: Ambre Cristal, Cerana, Etoile de Bali, Melipona, Secret du Nil and Suprême Nectar. Honey recurs as a signature note across the range, alongside vanilla, amber and musk, in keeping with the bee theme.
The scents are built from concentrates supplied by Maison Robertet, the Grasse-based fragrance house, and composed with its perfumers [14]. Melipona and Etoile de Bali were created by Serge De Oliveira, and Secret du Nil by Sidonie Lancesseur. Melipona opens on Bourbon vanilla over cashmere wood and amber and references the Melipona bee's role in pollinating vanilla in Mexico; Secret du Nil draws on Egypt and the Nile, layering bergamot and bitter orange over neroli, honey and vanilla; Etoile de Bali, inspired by a Balinese flower ritual, pairs freesia and lily with sandalwood and musk.
Recognition
The house has received editorial coverage in the niche-fragrance press. Fragrantica published a feature titled "Honoring the Hive: A Niche Perfume House Inspired by Bees" [15], and the magazine Lampoon ran an editorial in December 2024 on Etoile de Bali, noting the brand's bee and nectar concept and its collaboration with Robertet in Grasse [14].
Current status
Nectar Olfactif is active. The brand site carries a 2026 copyright, Fragrantica lists releases as recent as 2026 [12], and the house maintains a multi-country retail network. Its products are stocked across Europe — with the largest presence in Italy and Germany, alongside France, Belgium and Switzerland — and reach further markets in the Americas, the Middle East and elsewhere through listed retailers, in addition to direct sales on its own site [3].
