Summary

Overview

Nish Man is a Turkish men's grooming brand built around professional barbering. It is the men's line of the Istanbul cosmetics manufacturer Asil Group, which is headquartered in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul [7]. The range covers hair styling, hair and skin care, beard and moustache care, shaving products and colognes, and is sold both to barbershops and to consumers. Trade sources describe it as a barber-grade brand pitched at accessible prices rather than a luxury one [9].

The brand is active. Its products are exported well beyond Turkey, though the stated reach varies by source: the company's UK arm cites more than 40 countries [2], a UK trade review says more than 50 [9], and the Turkish site claims over 100. Whichever figure is closest, distribution spans the UK, the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Origins and ownership

The dates attached to Nish Man are not consistent across its own materials, and the conflict is worth stating plainly. UK trade sources, including the distributor Capital Hair & Beauty, give 2012 as the point from which the brand has "focused on delivering professional-quality grooming products at affordable prices" [10]. The Turkish parent, Asil Group, instead records its own founding as 2016 [7]. The most likely reading is that the two dates describe different things — Nish Man brand activity from 2012, and the corporate entity Asil Group from 2016 — but the brand does not reconcile them itself.

Ownership carries a smaller discrepancy. The Turkish-language corporate site presents the parent as Asil Group [7], while the brand's English-language UK pages refer to the group as "GS Group" [2]. Both point to the same Esenyurt, Istanbul base, and the names appear to describe one organisation under different labels. Asil Group lists three brands in its portfolio: Nish Man, the women's line NishLady, and the professional line PION Black Edition. No founders are named in any available source.

Asil Group describes its work as packaging design, research and development, and manufacturing, including private-label cosmetic production. A Turkish industry directory also lists a production address in Gaziantep, separate from the Istanbul headquarters [8].

Positioning and philosophy

Nish Man is marketed under the line "The Urban Gentleman," with the tagline "Creative Men Design" on its Turkish site [6]. The company frames itself around professional results: according to the distributor Capital Hair & Beauty, "every product is designed to help barbers achieve great results and keep clients looking their best" [10]. Asil Group states the values behind it as a "human-oriented sense of responsibility" and a "risk-taking entrepreneurial and dynamic structure," and gives the brand the expansive mission "No stop until the whole world hears our voice" [2].

The positioning sits in the middle market. A UK trade review calls Nish Man "one of the most trusted grooming brands worldwide," citing barber-grade quality at prices below luxury labels, and ties its popularity to the wider barbershop revival [9].

Products

The catalogue is organised around barbering and home grooming: styling waxes, gels and powders, hair and skin care, beard and moustache care, hair-removal wax, and after-shave colognes. A US barber retailer's roundup highlights several recurring products — the M7 Matte Hair Wax, the E4 Shaving Gel, the After Shave Cologne M4, a hair styling powder, and hair building fibres said to be made from cotton fibres [11]. The same source notes that products use the skin-calming ingredient allantoin, intended to reduce redness and dryness after shaving. The cologne range extends to numbered and named variants such as Aqua D'Asil, Marine and Amber.

Current status

Nish Man remains commercially active. Its parent, Asil Group, reports ongoing export operations and takes part in industry fairs including BeautyIstanbul and BeautyEurasia [7]. Third-party trade coverage from 2024 features the current product range, and the brand's most recent self-published activity is a UK blog post from June 2023.
