Overview
Nõberu Stockholm is a Swedish grooming and personal-care brand based in the capital, founded in 2016 [9]. It makes hair care, styling products, shaving and beard care, fragrances and grooming accessories, all of which the brand says are manufactured in Sweden [11]. Though its catalogue leans heavily toward men's grooming, Nõberu positions itself as a unisex line "for today's men and women", and frames its products around a daily ritual it calls "A Nõberian Lifestyle".
The company is small — a corporate database lists it at one to ten employees — but its reach extends well beyond the Nordics, with a distributor network that the brand's contact page puts at 25 markets across Europe and into Mexico [5]. The brand remains active, with a full product catalogue and ongoing social media presence.
Origin and founders
Sources differ on exactly how and when Nõberu began. Most accounts, including the retailer Lyko and the corporate-profile site The Org, credit the entrepreneur Iman Khalaf as the founder and give 2016 as the founding year [9][10]. The editorial profile Sliqhaq tells a fuller origin story, naming two co-founders — Johan Lindell and Iman Khalaf — who, it says, "met for the first time" in spring 2015 and "quickly found common ground", recognising "something missing on the market for male beauty" [8].
The two versions are not necessarily contradictory. The 2015 meeting described by Sliqhaq predates the 2016 launch cited elsewhere, so the earlier date most plausibly marks the founders' first encounter rather than the formal founding of the company. Lindell does not appear in The Org's current leadership listing, which records Iman Khalaf as chief executive alongside a head of sales and a chief operating officer — a possible sign that his involvement was concentrated in the brand's early days [10].
Philosophy and positioning
Nõberu presents itself as a maker of simple, easy-to-use beauty products meant to build a daily habit. According to the company, its products are designed to make users "feel more confident and good-looking", a feeling it says "becomes a lifestyle — 'A Nõberian Lifestyle'". The brand states its mission plainly: "to inspire a daily Nõberu ritual." Its stated values centre on conducting "business in a human way", holding an "awesome standard", staying "curious", and keeping things simple.
Third-party profiles describe the brand in similar terms. Sliqhaq frames Nõberu as "a comprehensive brand for the modern, urbane man", emphasising Swedish craftsmanship and environmentally responsible packaging, while Lyko's editorial copy ties the line to "Stockholm's fashion heritage". Despite the masculine framing common to grooming brands, Nõberu's own materials consistently keep the audience open to men and women alike.
Products
The range spans several grooming categories: hair and body washes, styling products such as pomades and pastes, beard care, shaving preparation and aftercare, fragrances, and accessories like razors, combs and brushes. A handful of recurring signature scents — Tobacco Vanilla, Orange Cedar, Sandalwood and Eucalyptus among them — run across the product lines, and Lyko notes a numbered fragrance series (No 101 Sandalwood, No 103 Amalfi, No 104 Tobacco Vanilla, No 109 Orange Cedar).
Tobacco Vanilla recurs most often and appears as an eau de parfum, which the brand markets as a signature fragrance "for the modern man and woman". Other named products include the 9 Wonders shampoo, conditioner and masque in Orange Cedar, and a sea salt spray that the company's own site calls "one of Europe's most loved Sea Salt Sprays" — a self-description rather than an independent assessment [3]. Published ingredient lists show formulas built around argan oil, sweet almond oil, witch hazel and green tea (Camellia Sinensis) [12].
Sustainability and ethics
Several of Nõberu's claims about how its products are made are echoed across third-party sources. The brand says its products are manufactured in Sweden, a point repeated by the distributor Barberalia [11]. According to Sliqhaq, the products are packaged in recycled aluminium and PET, and none are tested on animals [8]. Barberalia additionally describes the line as paraben-free, and at least some products — including a Tobacco Vanilla aftershave balm and shampoo — are marketed as vegan by the retailer Nebrito [12]. The brand-side ingredient lists do, however, show that some shampoos contain sodium laureth sulfate, so the line is not sulfate-free.
Current status
Nõberu Stockholm remains an active, operating brand roughly a decade after its founding. Its website carries a full product catalogue across multiple languages, it lists a Stockholm headquarters and a distributor network spanning more than 20 countries, and it maintains active Instagram and TikTok accounts [10]. The company remains small in scale, consistent with an independent grooming brand rather than a large manufacturer.
