Overview
Numbuzin is a South Korean skincare brand built around a single organising idea: it sorts skin concerns into numbered solutions, so that each number corresponds to one specific issue. The brand launched in 2019 under the Seoul company Benow Co., Ltd. [7] and is best known internationally for serums and treatment pads that spread through K-beauty communities online. It remains active, distributed across more than a dozen markets and still introducing new product lines in 2026.
The numbering concept gives the brand both its identity and its shopping logic — customers are invited to "find their number" rather than decode product names. According to the company, the name itself joins three ideas: "Number" for the identification system, "Buzz" for innovation, and "In" for delivering results [7].
Origin and founders
Sources give slightly different start dates depending on what is being counted. The company's own brand page treats 2018 as the establishment of the parent firm and 2019 as the launch of the Numbuzin label, while editorial coverage states plainly that "Numbuzin launched in 2019 under Benow, a beauty startup established in 2018" [7]. The 2019 date is used here for the brand itself, with 2018 marking the founding of its parent company.
That parent is Benow Co., Ltd. (registered in Korean as 비나우, also rendered BE NOW Corporation), based in Seoul's Seocho district in the GT Tower [1]. The company's listed representative is Lee Il-Joo [1]. Public sources do not consistently name a creative founder for the Numbuzin brand beyond the parent company's leadership.
Philosophy and positioning
Numbuzin frames skincare as something that should be simple rather than bewildering. Its stated mission is to "redefine skincare with clarity, simplicity, and visible results" [4], and the brand describes its values as a consumer-first mindset, honesty, and a clear numbering system that ties each product to a specific skin goal. The tagline "Skin Solutions, Simply Numbered" and the prompt "What's Your Number?" carry this positioning across its sites.
In practice the system pairs each number with a concern: No.1 for hydration and calming, No.3 for pores and texture, No.5 for dark spots and brightening, and No.9 for fine lines and firming. The brand sits at an accessible, indie price level rather than a premium one.
Products and innovation
The numbered lines are organised around recognisable skincare actives. No.1 draws on panthenol, hyaluronic acid and cica for soothing and hydration; No.3 uses the fermented ingredients bifida and galactomyces to address pores and texture; No.5 leans on glutathione and vitamin derivatives for brightening; and No.9 is built around an NAD+ ingredient marketed for firming and anti-ageing.
Several products have carried the brand's reputation. The No.3 Skin Softening Serum, described as one of Numbuzin's global bestsellers, gained early traction in Reddit's AsianBeauty community before circulating more widely on TikTok [9]. Other frequently cited items include the No.6 Deep Sleep Mask Serum [7] and, more recently, the No.9 NAD+ line of toner, essence and eye cream, which the company's US site presents as "one of Korea's most clinically advanced anti-aging routines," citing formulas with 50 peptides, adenosine and NAD+ [3]. As with most such marketing claims, these are the brand's own descriptions rather than independent findings.
Recognition
Numbuzin has drawn notice from both Korean retail awards and the international beauty press. It was named a top pick for skin and toner products at the 2022 Olive Young Awards [7], and the following year its No.5 Vitamin-Niacinamide Concentrated Pad was named "Olive Young's Pick" in the 2023 awards [8].
Its sharpest moment of visibility came in 2023, when a Spate-sourced report published by WWD ranked Numbuzin as the second fastest-growing beauty brand by U.S. Google search, citing roughly +387% year-over-year growth and more than 75.5 million TikTok hashtag views, with the brand "often mentioned alongside 'glass skin'" [6]. The brand has since cited recognition from Vogue in 2025 and 2026 and a New Beauty Award 2026 on its US homepage.
Distribution
The brand's reach has shifted notably over a short period. At the time of the 2023 WWD report, Numbuzin was selling through Amazon and had "no direct-to-consumer website" [6]. Since then it has launched a dedicated US store at us.numbuzin.com, and it now operates across multiple channels — stocked through Olive Young in South Korea and Qoo10 in Japan, and reported to be available in 16 countries [7].
Current status
Numbuzin is active. Its US site continued to feature new promotions and 2026 industry recognition, and the brand maintains social channels under the handle @numbuzin_global on Instagram and TikTok. Its momentum from the 2022–2024 K-beauty wave has carried into ongoing distribution and product launches.
