Summary

Overview

Oliprox is a line of dermatological medical devices for flaky, itchy scalp and skin and for fungal nail infections. Its five products (a shampoo, a spray, a foam, a cream and a nail lacquer) are built around two antifungal substances, climbazole and piroctone olamine. They are labelled as made by Boderm Laboratories P.C., based in an industrial park in Attica, near Athens, Greece [5]. In Germany and Austria the range is marketed by Faroderm GmbH, a privately owned dermatology company in Nidderau near Frankfurt am Main [6].

The line sits closer to the pharmacy shelf than to the cosmetics counter. Each product is sold as a "Medizinprodukt", the German term for a medical device under EU rules, and is intended to support the care of seborrhoeic dermatitis, dandruff and nail fungus in adults and, in the case of the shampoo and cream, children. The brand is active; all five products remain on sale.

Origin and ownership

Little is publicly documented about how or when Oliprox began. No founding year, founders or founding story have been published for the line itself, and the dates that do exist concern its German marketer rather than the brand.

What the product labels do show is a Greek manufacturer and a German distributor. The cream's label names "Boderm Laboratories P.C., Athen" as manufacturer and "Faroderm GmbH, Nidderau" as distributor for Germany [6]. The spray and foam give the manufacturer's full address at 6 P. Gavala Street, Industrial Park Agios Stefanos, Attica [5].

Two points remain unsettled.

Country of origin. Going by the legal manufacturer named on the labels, Oliprox is a Greek brand. Its products are presented in German-speaking markets as "faroderm® Oliprox®", however, and the company most visibly behind them, Faroderm, is German [2]. Under EU medical-device labelling the manufacturer is the party legally responsible for placing a product on the market, so this article treats Greece as the country of origin while noting that the brand reaches German-speaking customers through a German company.

Parent company. Most of the labels name Boderm Laboratories P.C. as manufacturer. The shampoo, by contrast, describes itself as a "product of BODERM TM – Gabriel Health Pharmaceutical ltd." [4], and the foam adds "Product of Gabriel Health ltd" alongside the Boderm address [9]. Both names are given with the same street address in Attica. How Boderm Laboratories and Gabriel Health relate to one another, whether as one group, a trademark holder and a producer, or partners, is not publicly explained.

Faroderm, the German marketer

Faroderm GmbH was founded in 2011 and is privately owned [2]. According to its own website, it was started by two specialists in dermatological skin products. Its managing director is Dietmar Seifert, and the company is registered at the local court in Hanau [8].

Faroderm sums up its purpose in a single line, "Dermatologie ist unsere Mission" ("Dermatology is our mission"). It says it develops and markets medical devices for skin conditions including psoriasis, hair loss, seborrhoeic dermatitis, acne, foot and nail fungus, excessive sweating and actinic keratosis, a sun-related skin condition. It also makes sterile single-use instruments for skin biopsies and minor surgery. The company says it uses only established dermatological actives with demonstrated efficacy, and that further medical devices are in development.

Oliprox is one of several product lines in the Faroderm catalogue. It sits beside the acne cream ACMED, the hair-loss line Hairgen, and the Bionatar and Policalm ranges [1]. The 2011 founding date belongs to Faroderm and should not be read as the founding year of Oliprox.

Philosophy and positioning

Oliprox has no separately published mission statement or tagline. Its positioning comes through in how the products are described: as targeted care for specific, recurring skin problems rather than as everyday grooming. The range is grouped on the Faroderm site under seborrhoeic dermatitis and foot and nail fungus, conditions that the company describes in plain terms. Seborrhoeic dermatitis, for example, is described as a common, non-contagious condition marked by inflamed and scaly patches of skin.

The cream's label states that it is available "in pharmacies and dermatological institutes" [6], which places the line in the pharmacy and dermatology-clinic channel rather than in mass retail. German pharmacy product numbers appear on every item.

Products

All five products share the same pairing of climbazole and piroctone olamine. Both are antifungal agents, and the shampoo's label credits them with countering excessive flaking. Around that core, each product adds its own supporting ingredients.

Oliprox Shampoo is described as support for the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis and of irritated, scaly and itchy scalp in adults and children. According to the manufacturer, glycolic acid helps loosen existing scales. Glycerin, panthenol and allantoin are added to moisturise and soothe the affected skin. The shampoo is meant to be massaged into a damp scalp two to three times a week and left on for five minutes. Its label says it contains no parabens or silicones; it does, however, list fragrance among its ingredients.

Oliprox Spray and Oliprox Schaum (foam) are leave-on formats for the scalp and body, intended for heavy flaking such as dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis. Both list piroctone olamine, climbazole, allantoin, biotin, glycerin and panthenol. They are massaged into slightly damp skin for 20 to 30 seconds and allowed to dry, and the treated areas are not to be washed for the following hour.

Oliprox Creme adds Modukine, which the company describes as biologically active polypeptides from milk. According to the manufacturer, the cream's actives have an anti-inflammatory effect and help restore a disturbed lipid barrier, the skin's protective outer layer [6]. It is applied once or twice a day and is labelled free of parabens, fragrance and mineral oils. Those exclusions are stated for the cream only and do not apply across the range.

Oliprox Nagellack is a clear nail lacquer for protection against nail fungus and for supportive care of nails already affected [7]. It combines climbazole and piroctone olamine with rosemary extract and urea. The company notes that it can be used without first filing the nails, suits both women and men, and should be applied for at least six months.

Oliprox carries no documented third-party certifications beyond its medical-device status, and no awards or editorial coverage of the line are known.

Current status

Oliprox is active. As of October 2026, all five products are listed in Faroderm's online shop, which serves Germany and Austria, and the site's footer carries a 2026 copyright notice [3]. The shampoo, spray, foam and nail lacquer were added to that shop in April 2020 and the cream in January 2022. Those dates mark online listings only, not product launches; when the line first came to market has not been published.
