Overview
OMANLUXURY is an independent perfume house based in Muscat, Oman, founded in 2012 [8]. It builds its fragrances around Omani raw materials — frankincense, oud, rose and ambergris — and pairs them with compositions by established European perfumers. The brand name fuses "Oman" and "Luxury," a wording the company uses to present Omani heritage as a high-end fragrance proposition rather than a generic Arabian theme.
The house remains active and expanding. Its factory operates in the Rusayl industrial estate outside Muscat, it exhibits at international fragrance fairs, and it reported fresh company news as recently as April 2026. In 2025 its fragrance Caden was named Niche Fragrance of the Year at the Beautyworld Middle East Awards.
Origin & founders
OMANLUXURY was started in 2012 by a group of young Omanis who wanted, in the words of the company, to "translate the spirit of Oman into scent." Accounts of exactly how many founders there were differ. The brand's own About page names two: Muatasim Al Hinai, its Managing Director, and Muadh Al Sinawi, its Marketing Director [2]. Four independent third-party sources — including the national newspaper Oman Observer and the niche retailers 50-ml.com and TheScentHouse — instead name three founders, adding Ahmed Al Esry, described as the General Manager [8][9]. The most likely explanation is that the About page highlights the two outward-facing directors while Ahmed Al Esry runs operations and the factory.
The company's stated aim from the start, as its CEO Muatasim Al Hinai put it, was to "embody value, uniqueness, elegance, and beauty in a fragrance bottle." That framing, tying an Omani identity to a premium positioning, is reflected in the name itself.
History & milestones
The house released its first commercial collection in 2016. Recognition in its home region followed quickly: in 2017 it took two Fragrance Foundation Arabia awards, for Perfume of the Year and Best Marketing Campaign, and the same period saw its first exhibitions in Italy as it began building an international profile. In 2018 it received the HM Sultan Qaboos Award for best commercial enterprise, a state-level honour for private business in Oman [8].
A turning point came in 2020, when the eight-fragrance Main Collection was relaunched with a roster of European perfumers, among them Dominique Ropion, Marie Salamagne, Maurice Roucel, Pierre Negrin and Philippine Courtière [9]. The following year the brand was reworked again with a more modern visual identity, while keeping its Omani reference points.
Since the mid-2020s the company has leaned into travel retail and the international niche-perfume circuit, appearing at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes and at Esxence in Milan, whose 2025 edition it attended under the theme "Masters of Dreams." Caden, composed by perfumer Maxime Exler, launched in May 2025 and won its Beautyworld award that October.
Ownership
OMANLUXURY is a founder-owned partnership rather than part of a larger group; its LinkedIn listing records the company type as a partnership founded in 2012, with a workforce in the 11-to-50 range [11]. No acquisitions or outside ownership are recorded.
Philosophy & positioning
The company describes its approach as balancing tradition with contemporary design, drawing on Omani cultural heritage and landscapes. Its stated ambition is to create what it calls "a true olfactory expression of Oman," blending authenticity with modernity through ingredients tied to Omani culture. In practice that means using local materials — frankincense, rose and spices — as the backbone of scents built to international perfumery standards.
The positioning is deliberately premium and provenance-led. Retailers and the brand alike present it to buyers of established Western niche houses who want a distinctly Omani origin rather than a generic regional theme. The company's tagline is "The essence of elegance."
Products & innovation
The Main Collection, relaunched in 2020, is the core of the range, with fragrances that each pair an Omani theme to a named perfumer. Oud Aquilaria, built around Omani oud traditions, was composed by Dominique Ropion; Royal Incense, evoking Omani frankincense, by Philippine Courtière; and Belfiore by Marie Salamagne. One fragrance, Voyage — themed on Oman's maritime and trading history — was composed by co-founder Muatasim Al Hinai himself [3]. Other releases reach directly into Omani history and craft: Hommage 1744 references the 1744 ascension of Imam Ahmad bin Said, founder of the Al Said dynasty, while Nasaj pays tribute to Omani embroidery.
The most decorated recent product is Caden, a 2025 release by Maxime Exler that the company markets as bold and playful, and which had sold out on the official site by mid-2026. Signature ingredients across the line include frankincense (the Omani Hojari grade), oud, Omani and Damask rose, ambergris, saffron and musk.
The brand ties several products to a heritage sourcing story. Roses used in fragrances such as Dejan come from Jabal Al Akhdar in the Hajar Mountains, where growers withhold water for two months from September to force a stronger spring bloom, and distillers process the harvest in traditional copper pots [6]. The company says its manufacturing follows ISO and GMP standards and that its raw-material sourcing is aligned with IFRA guidelines.
Ethics & sustainability
OMANLUXURY manufactures entirely in Oman, at its facility in the Rusayl industrial estate near Muscat [5]. The company frames this as part of a wider commitment to local sourcing and to Omanisation — prioritising the hiring of Omani nationals — and positions its production within Oman's Vision 2040 plan for industrial diversification [8]. That alignment has drawn state attention: in April 2026 the Rusayl facility was visited by H.E. Halima bint Rashid Al Zari, chairperson of Riyada, Oman's authority for small- and medium-enterprise development [5]. According to one retailer bio, the house also runs a packaging recycling programme and supports local artisans and distillers, while sourcing some supplementary materials from Europe and Asia.
Recognition
Beyond its 2017 Fragrance Foundation Arabia wins and the 2018 Sultan Qaboos Award, the brand's most recent honour is the 2025 Beautyworld Middle East Award for Niche Fragrance of the Year, given to Caden; the citation credited its "dedication to authenticity, artistry, and the timeless beauty of Omani craftsmanship" [4]. The house has been profiled by the Oman Observer and carries brand pages and reviews on the fragrance databases Fragrantica and Parfumo.
Current status
The brand is active. Its website is live with news posts dated as recently as April 2026, it maintains an operating factory in Rusayl, and it has an ongoing 2025–2026 calendar of international exhibitions and events across Milan, Cannes, Washington, Rome and Doha. Recent state-level engagement, including the April 2026 Riyada visit, reflects its continuing role within Oman's industrial-development effort [5].
