Overview
Petal Fresh is an American personal-care brand that makes natural haircare, skincare and body products. It is owned by Bio Creative Labs, a manufacturer based in Costa Mesa, California, and its identity draws on what the company calls the "vibrant botanicals of Southern California." The range is built around plant-based formulas and a set of value claims the company groups under "The Petal Fresh Promise": clean beauty, cruelty-free, sustainably sourced and vegan.
The brand publishes very little about its own history. Its "Our Story" page carries only the tagline "Inspired by Nature. Designed for You." and no founding date, founders or origin narrative [3]. As a result, several company-level facts rest on third-party sources rather than the brand's own account, and its founding year cannot be stated with confidence (see Origin & ownership).

Origin & ownership
Petal Fresh is a brand of Bio Creative Labs, a personal-care manufacturer headquartered at Costa Mesa, California. Bio Creative Labs also owns Be Care Love, formerly known as BCL Spa, and describes itself on LinkedIn as a company selling natural beauty, spa, haircare and body-care products with an international presence across the Americas, Europe and Asia [7].
The founding year is genuinely unclear, and the sources disagree. The brand's own site gives no date at all [3]. LinkedIn lists Bio Creative Labs as founded in 2011 [7], while a UAE distributor page states the parent company was established around 2004 and that the Petal Fresh line was adopted in 2005, adding that the company "originated from Nature's Gate specialists" [9]. A general web-search summary suggested 2002. Because the dates conflict and none is confirmed on the brand's own site, no single founding year can be treated as established.
The corporate lineage has also been described differently over time. An earlier third-party review identified the parent as "Dasy Design International" in Thailand with a California-based managing company, and placed Petal Fresh within a "Spa Organics" product line [8] — a description that predates the current Bio Creative Labs framing.
Philosophy & positioning
Petal Fresh positions itself as clean, plant-based personal care. According to the company, most products are formulated with 96% natural ingredients, and even at the lowest level at least 88% natural ingredients [2]. The brand states that none of its products or suppliers test on animals, and that the majority of its range is vegan, with the exception of items containing honey. Parent company Bio Creative Labs frames the wider mission as helping people "take control of their health" through natural products, and says it bans more than 1,500 ingredients it considers harmful [7].
Products
The range is organised into three lines. Petal Fresh Pure is the core collection, spanning hair, face, bath and body; Hair ResQ targets concerns such as thinning, damage and scalp health; and Skin ResQ addresses skin concerns and includes a "Hello Hydration" line. Signature items include a Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner marketed as a scalp treatment, an Ultra Hydration Blueberry Sorbet body wash, a Honey & Coconut body butter, and the Hair ResQ Advanced Biotin Pro-Growth series. Named hero ingredients across the lines include tea tree, blueberry, honey and coconut, biotin and multi-peptides.
Sustainability
Bio Creative Labs describes several environmental commitments for the brand. According to its LinkedIn profile, the company is transitioning to fully ocean-bound recycled packaging and donates 1% of profits toward education, alongside its stated ban on more than 1,500 ingredients [7]. A distributor page separately lists the products as paraben-free [9]. The brand does not publish third-party certifications for these claims on its own site.
Distribution
Petal Fresh sells directly in the United States and reaches international markets through local distributors and iHerb [2]. It is also stocked by Nordic retailers. The Skin ResQ "Hello Hydration" line has additionally been sold through Whole Foods.
Controversies
In an investigation published around the mid-2010s, the review site VegetarianBeautyProducts.com examined Petal Fresh after finding PETA cruelty-free and vegan logos on products at a discount store. The writers concluded "purchase at your own risk," saying they could not definitively confirm the cruelty-free claims at the time; they cited unusually low pricing, website typos and an unanswered email inquiry [8]. The brand's current site now states its cruelty-free and vegan positions explicitly [2].
Current status
Petal Fresh is active. As of May 2026 its e-commerce site was live and running a sitewide promotion, and its Instagram, TikTok and Facebook accounts remained in use [1]. The brand operates across multiple regions, with confirmed Nordic distribution.
