Summary

Overview

ProfiCare is a German brand of personal-care and household small appliances, owned by Clatronic International GmbH of Kempen in North Rhine-Westphalia. It was presented for the first time at the IFA electronics trade fair in Berlin in 2017, built on the earlier success of the company's ProfiCook kitchen-appliance line [1]. The name is stylized on the brand's own site as "PROfi-Care," and its French storefront carries the tagline "Home appliances dedicated to your well-being" [10].

The brand covers a wide catalogue of more than 130 articles, from grooming and beauty devices to floor care and indoor-climate products [1]. Within beauty and personal care, its range includes hair and beard clippers, men's razors, body and nose/ear trimmers, hair dryers and styling tools, IPL hair-removal systems, manicure and pedicure sets, facial cleansing brushes, electric toothbrushes, and a multi-function "Lady Beauty-Set." The company frames this part of the catalogue around the idea of caring for oneself "from face to feet."

Origin and ownership

ProfiCare is not an independent company but a house brand of Clatronic International GmbH, an appliance importer and distributor founded in 1982 in Kempen by the Claßen family; the "Cla" in Clatronic is drawn from the family surname [9]. The parent group runs the brand as a third-generation family business and describes itself as maintaining "highest quality" as its standard [2].

A point of confusion surrounds the brand's age. ProfiCare's own homepage advertises "over 40 years" of heritage, but according to the company that history belongs to the parent group: the ProfiCare brand itself dates only to its 2017 launch, while the "over 40 years" figure reflects Clatronic's founding in 1982 [1][9]. German Wikipedia, the main third-party source on the group, records the 1982 date for Clatronic and does not give a separate launch year for the ProfiCare brand [9].

Clatronic distributes several brands alongside ProfiCare, chiefly Clatronic, Bomann, ProfiCook, CTC and appliances made under an AEG licence [9]. The group expanded through acquisition in 1997, when it bought the appliance maker C. Bomann GmbH [9]. Its logistics centre in Kempen, with more than 100,000 square metres of warehouse space, supplies retail partners in Germany and abroad [9].

Positioning

ProfiCare is positioned as an everyday value brand. Its German homepage sells "household appliances online — quality at a fair price," and the company states that its devices are already part of the lives of more than one million families in Germany [2]. Beauty-oriented products in the range are modestly priced, with items such as the facial cleansing brush, manicure/pedicure sets and the "Lady Beauty-Set" listed roughly between €15 and €63 on the brand's site.

The brand publishes a supplier code of conduct covering its own operations, suppliers and subcontractors. It commits to respect for human rights, compliance with national labour law, a maximum regular working week of 48 hours with at least one free day, a ban on wage cuts used as discipline, and prohibitions on child labour, forced labour, coercion and discrimination, alongside freedom of association and safe working conditions [3].

Current status

ProfiCare is an active brand. Its catalogue includes recent model numbers from the 2024–2025 period, such as the PC-PW 3149 nine-in-one analysis scale and the PC-NE 3144 nose and ear trimmer, and its German storefront supports current payment methods including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna. It operates dedicated storefronts in several European countries, including Germany, France, the Czech Republic and Poland, and its products reach Nordic markets. The brand maintains an official Facebook page, ProfiCareDEOfficial. No coverage of ProfiCare by major beauty editorial outlets could be found; as a value appliance brand, it is sold through electronics and general retail rather than through the beauty press.
